The Head Solutions Video Engineer will be the technical lead to deliver our smart home camera offering portfolio.

You will ensure the project team define the system architecture, criteria for system testing and user acceptance result.

Main responsibilities, but not limited to:

Ultimate responsibility to deliver the technical solution to the customer

Accountable for ensuring that the end-to-end solution is in line with the platform business plan

Work with Platform and System Architects to ensure that the technical solution is contemporary and flexible to allow easy evolution

Define, prioritize, and clarify user stories. Work with Product Owners to understand use cases, features, business & technical domain rules and overall product goals for Homes security product offerings

Collaborate with the Scrum Master to run successful Release Planning and Sprint Planning sessions, as well as completing Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives.

Maintain the functional quality of the deliverables by setting and evaluating expectations and acceptance criteria

Identify and manage key system metrics that will be used to define technical direction

Build the Management Operating System for the project team

Track and deliver the technical content of the project on time, on cost, on schedule

Will be the technical point of contact to dialog with our partners

Ensure the project team develop a plan to meet cyber security requirements

Reports to the VP Engineering Security


Bachelors degree in computer science, software engineering, or equivalent. Masters degree preferred
10+ years of experience delivering wireless camera, video offering such as video conferencing


Experience of participating and leading cross functional global projects

Experience in the Product Development life cycle processes and tools Experience operating with ODM to deliver hardware products is highly desirable

Excellent communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills, people development, networking and influencing

Excellent planning and execution/ program management skills

Highly motivated and self-directed with the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines within tight schedules, supporting multiple projects and dynamic environments.

Ability to understand and abstract complex systems from technical descriptions

Experience in low latency video streaming

Experience in advanced video compression

Advanced understanding of video codecs and video standards

Advanced knowledge of IP video delivery protocols

Summary The Video Standards team at InterDigital is a team of highly motivated, fast paced, and highly skilled researchers with strong backgrounds in video compression, video processing, and virtual reality. We actively participate in state-of-the-art video standards development activities in international standardization organizations such as ISO/IEC/MPEG, ITU-T/VCEG, and the JVET. Our areas of expertise encompass future video coding standards, virtual reality coding and streaming, video-on-demand streaming, video broadcasting and multicasting, real-time interactive video applications, and optimized video delivery over 4G and 5G networks. We are seeking two Video Coding Standards Engineers with the following responsibilities and qualifications: Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Actively participate and contribute to JVET and MPEG standardizations, including Versatile Video Coding, MPEG-DASH, file format, immersive media metrics and metadata, point cloud compression and data carriage, etc. * Research on system technologies and solutions for video centric processing, storage and delivery applications. * Document and present the novel video streaming technologies and implementations in various forms, such as standards contributions, conference and journal publications, technical white papers, patent applications, etc. * Propose high level syntax design for media compression standards such as VVC, point cloud compression and 3DoF+ visual compression, and develop system solutions to support emerging applications such as VR, AR and XR, with a focus on driving optimized video experience over 5G networks. Qualifications * PhD in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering, or Masters' in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 2+ years standardization experience. Position will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and relevant work experience. * Solid research background in video processing, storage and delivery. Proven track record of publications in first-tier conferences and/or journals a plus. * Past experience and contributions with video standards such as AVC, HEVC, VVC, ISOBMFF file format, MPEG-DASH, OMAF and PCC strongly preferred. * Proficient in C++ and C programming. Past experience working with video coding standards reference software such as JEM, HM, SHM, JM and JSVM preferred. * Past experience being a standards delegate to JCT-VC, JVET, MPEG or 3GPP a plus. * Strong analytical and research skills along with a proven innovation track record. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong team player. * Available and willing to travel.
