Head Softball Coach And Success Coach

Description

We seek a full-time Head Softball Coach oversee all day-to-day softball team tasks with a strong emphasis on developing successful student athletes under guidance of the Associate Director, FRC and Athletics . This position will recruit, develop, and administer the softball program within the framework Heartland Community College's mission and values. Under the guidance of the Associate Director, Success Connections, this position will alsoprovide 10 hours/week success coaching for the general student body.

General responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Head Softball Coach

• Schedule, organize and oversee a consistent softball practice schedule and all games

• Prepare annual softball budget request and monitor budget throughout the year

• Actively recruit and maintain a roster of student athletes

• Oversee conduct of players on and off the field

• Represent Heartland Community College appropriately and professionally at all athletic events, practices and activities

Success Coach

• Perform all duties of success coaching

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree

• Head coaching experience at high school level or above or assistant coaching or playing experience at college level or above

• Demonstrated ability to recruit athletes and coach an intercollegiate athletics program in accordance with Heartland Community College's mission and values

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to problem-solve, work independently, and function professionally under pressure

• Ability to work professionally with students, staff and the public

• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Desired Qualifications

• Master's degree

• 2-3 years of progressively responsible experience working in an academic support program or student services setting

• Experience with budget development and oversight

• Experience with fundraising

• Experience with the recruitment and transfer process of college athletes

• Experience in higher education generally, and at the community college specifically

• CPR/AED certified

• Knowledge of On Course principles and curriculum
