Slumberkins is a leading childrens educational brand on a mission to promote early emotional learning. Co-founded in 2016 by Kelly Oriard and Callie Christensen, an educator and a family therapist respectively, they saw a need for an intentional childrens brand that reinforces a positive attachment between children and their caregivers. Our stories use research-based techniques to teach little ones important social-emotional skills, provide digestible therapeutic techniques for parents to use, and normalize conversations about big feelings.

ABOUT THE POSITION

This role is multi-faceted and requires a unique individual who can manage both the Wholesale Sales channel (serving as our sole Sales Account Executive) and support testing in our Licensing business. This role requires a positive, outgoing, problem-solver who can keep customer satisfaction at its highest. This position is responsible for managing our fast-growing wholesale business, and creating new distribution opportunities, and will work closely with the marketing and operations teams daily.

The pay range for this position is $90,000-$110,000, DOE, once you include both base and commission.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Represent our company to existing and new wholesale customers, with a comprehensive understanding of our offerings, brand, mission, vision, and values
  • Achieve company objectives through effective planning, setting prospecting targets, analyzing performance data, and projecting future performance of product offerings
  • Uncover and manage new accounts, both large strategics accounts, regional rep teams, as well as boutique, retails via Faire.com, to advance the brands wholesale efforts to expand distribution
  • Continuously develop personal leadership, hiring, and training skills while ensuring the team is using effective sales tactics to meet revenue objectives
  • Generate leads, and build and nurture client relationships
  • Manage and grow relationships with our 5+ North American key accounts
  • Have a thorough understanding of current products (core line, limited editions, restocks, product intentions, etc.)
  • Closely manage cross-functional action items to ensure that deadlines are met
  • Work closely with our marketing team to communication any branding well need for in-store signage and packaging
  • Adaptable/flexible to change and adopt new roles/duties/responsibilities (startup environment/life)

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a strategic sales plan that expands the customer base and extends Slumberkins reach
  • Meet with potential clients and grow long-lasting relationships by understanding their needs
  • Track, analyze, and communicate key quantitative metrics and business trends as they relate to partner relationships
  • Identify knowledge gaps within the team and develop a plan to fulfill them
  • Oversee the Wholesale revenue plan to ensure company quotas and standards are met
  • Create and identify opportunities for value-added solutions to new and existing customers by utilizing a proven consultative sales process

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in marketing, business, or similar field
  • 5+ years in sales management within a corporate setting (10+ years experience in lieu of a bachelors degree)
  • Proven track record of success in the sales cycle from plan to close
  • Proactive and results-focused, with the ability to learn quickly and prioritize effectively
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Superb leadership ability
  • Ability to work remotely
  • Knowledge of the Childrens Toy and Educational market
  • Passion for the Slumberkins Brand and Mission
  • This position is based in the Vancouver, WA headquarters. Remote work is acceptable if located in one of the following states: California, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, or Washington.

Training of all cashiers and ensuring cashiers are: Communicating about the {N}Power program with customers</p><p>Notifying customers that we donate $.05 to the local foodbank for every transaction where a customer uses a reusable bag</p><p>Educating customers on the Nutrient to Know AboutPromoting store seminars and events Completing the Daily Sales Report (DSR) and cashier closeout responsibilities. Issuing and verifying cash drawers. Handling returns and overrides at the front end. Addressing customer complaints appropriately. Ensuring that front end sets are full and well-maintained.
