Areas of responsibilities
Underwriting Operations:
Working with a small team of underwriters, you will manage the relationship with our vendors and steer decisions to drive operational excellence in underwriting and maintain underwriting quality and sound risk management.
Underwriting strategy:
You will lead the development and implementation underwriting strategy to move from a more traditional underwriting approach to a more data-driven underwriting approach. This includes incorporation of new data sources and ability to identify new vendors to improve the efficiency, customer experience, and mortality/morbidity outcomes of the underwriting process.
Insurance Product Strategy:
You will support our product strategy. Through this you will ensure that we remain in line with industry trends. You will pioneer innovative idea and assist in the research of new methodologies to drive the development of new individual life and health products.
About the Team
The Insurance Team at iptiQ is and entrepreneurial and dynamic team that encompasses Pricing, UW, Product Strategy and Analytics. We drive change in the organization and the industry.
About You
Minimum 7 years of experience in a senior underwriting role, which designed and implemented full underwriting and simplified issue underwriting rule sets and guidelines in the Life industry from the ground up. Similar experience in individual Medicare Supplement and other health products a plus.
Experience with both traditional underwriting techniques and automated/accelerated underwriting
A decisive leader with a proven history of problem-solving
You would need to operate effectively in an environment of deadlines and high workloads, adjusts schedules or work hours to meet changes in priorities

For Armonk, NY, the estimated base salary range for this position is $124,000 to $198,000. The specific salary offered for this, or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget.
