Responsibilities

The Head of Total Rewards is accountable for the design, delivery, benchmarking, and measurement of the company's total rewards solutions and services. You'll ensure industry leading rewards solutions drive the company's competitiveness, enable high performance of the employees and align to business strategy and culture. This includes:

  • Job architecture and performance management

  • Compensation practices for global compensation, executive compensation and equity

  • Global health and wellness

  • Other benefits including non-monetary rewards and recognition

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and 10+ years related work experience required.

  • Experience in large global financial services organizations with progressive experience in human resources, compensation and/or benefits required.

  • Experience designing and implementing compensation and benefits programs in a de-centralized, global and publicly traded organization.

  • Extensive knowledge of a wide variety of compensation and benefit plans, techniques and theories including base salary, merit programs, executive compensation, short-term incentives, equity programs, health and wellness plans, retirement plans and recognition programs.

  • Experience in directly managing/influencing teams of people.

  • Must have computer skills and knowledge of human resource systems.

  • Must have ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy while being detail oriented. Ability to maintain confidentiality is essential.

  • Strong interpersonal, organization, business communication and time management skills.

  • High level of initiative and ability to structure ambiguity. Strong project management skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and follow up skills.

  • Ability to work well under pressure, juggle tasks and work efficiently against deadlines.

  • Experience developing and motivating a global team, as well as leading through organizational change.

  • Must have change management leadership capabilities.

  • Strength in using data and metrics, and experience creating and managing a context of decision-oriented data.

  • Exceptional executive presence and presentation skills.

  • Travel globally required (10%), including overnight stays.

Location

This position is open to locations across the United States including the ability to work from home based on qualifications, experience, and skillset. If located outside of Des Moines, IA, significant travel to Des Moines would be a part of this role.

This position will lead the design, implement and administrate compensation solutions, employee health and welfare and retirement programs. This position is also responsible to monitor and ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulations related to the responsibilities of the position. Responsibilities: * Provide strategic and operational leadership in the design, development, implementation, administration, and communication of Total Rewards programs including health, welfare, wellness, retirement, base pay, and incentive programs in aligned with TRC's goals, strategy and values. * Analyze the market competitiveness and cost-effectiveness of our compensation and benefit plans to ensure they optimize our ability to attract and retain top talent. * Serve as the subject matter expert, educating leaders on components of the long-term incentive plans. * Manage job evaluation and market pricing process and strategy. * Lead the annual merit increase and bonus payout process. * Benchmark executive and non-executive compensation and programs. * Provide insight and counsel on external total compensation offers and internal promotions. * Develop strategies for international compensation and benefits programs and compliant immigration/work authorization processes * Work in collaboration with Chief People Officer to create and prepare materials for the compensation committee and board meetings. * Plan and direct the development and implementation of employee benefit programs including, but not limited to health insurance, disability insurance, life insurance, employee assistance, compensation programs, retirement, and leave of absence plans. * Works with benefit brokers to understand market trends, and apply strategic planning skills to assess, design, and refine the strategy process for benefits in an environment of major healthcare reform. * Monitor the competitive and regulatory environment and makes recommendations on changes to the benefits strategies and plans. * Acts as advisor to the President & CEO, CFO and Chief People Officer and other company officials as requested. * Oversee and perform personnel administrative functions of direct report staff (e.g. training, supervising, work assignments, timesheets, performance evaluations, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining necessary staffing, enhancing productivity of staff and ensuring department and/or program outcomes are achieved. * Responsible for analyzing any compensation and benefits costs and liabilities for M&A work and making recommendations. * Work with HR Operations to integrate compensation and benefits systems as necessary for new acquisitions. * Provide advice to local HR and management on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation and job evaluations. * Stay current and in touch with industry trends developing concepts, practices, and procedures in the benefits and wellness fields. * Use working knowledge of HRIS to improve data accuracy, QA processes, identify trends, drive change and assess administrative effectiveness. * Ensure through audits, reports and personal contacts that benefits programs are consistently administered in compliance with company policies and government regulations. #LI-LC1 * BA/BS required, advanced degree preferred. * 10+ years of Compensation and Benefits Management in a Professional Services environment. * Hands on experience managing compensation and handling mergers, acquisitions and associated compensation restructuring. * CEBS, CBP, CCP and similar credentials is highly desired. * Hands on experience administering all aspects of employee benefits programs including health, wellness, disability, retirement, FMLA, etc. * Experienced leader who possesses a progressive HR mindset. * Proven experience in designing and leading annual compensation, equity and incentive programs. * Proven experience in designing and leading benefit strategies and programs in accordance with state and federal regulations. * Superior communication and interpersonal skills and has the ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport with a broad set of executives. * Ability to establish strong leadership presence within the business areas and demonstrate the experience, stature and confidence to effectively address sensitive HR issues. * Excellent analytical and project management skills. * Thorough subject matter expertise with knowledge and understanding of accounting and financial concepts especially related to tax and accounting treatment, SEC regulations and filings, proxy disclosures, FASB, Internal Revenue Code. * Results oriented and flexible with the ability to manage multiple projects in a demanding and fast-paced environment. * Ability to proactively recognize, plan and act on the need for innovation and improvement in the processes. * Desired experience working with benefit plan design for professional and field services populations * Microsoft Office (Outlook, Lync, Word, Excel, PP), ADP, Deltec EOE Minorities/Females/Protected Veterans/Disabled TRC Companies, Inc.
