At Gatik we're developing Level 4 automated light trucks and vans for business to business (B2B) short-haul logistics. Our autonomous vehicles reduce the high cost of urban logistics, while improving safety, increasing efficiency, reducing congestion and emissions, and allowing businesses to best serve the community.

Led by a team of AV researchers and engineers from Carnegie Mellon University, we are building new concepts and groundbreaking solutions for autonomous vehicles to ensure goods are transported between business locations both efficiently and affordably in city environments. With offices in Palo Alto and Toronto, we are dedicated to building commercial applications of AVs and aim to power the next generation of self-driving commercial fleets for urban logistics.

Responsibilities

  • Promote safety culture inside Gatik

  • Provide guidance on the adoption and adaptation of relevant safety standards, and industry best practices, and help ensure Gatik is complying with relevant safety regulations

  • Define and measure metrics for safe operation

  • Work cross-functionally with the software, hardware, technical program management, and operations to define and implement safety policies

  • Serve as technical expert and policy advisor to the leadership team on safety issues

  • Organize, drive, and facilitate FMEA process cross-functionally across the engineering team

  • Address risks through proactive hazard identification and mitigation

  • Provide oversight of design and test methods to assure compliance with applicable operations/fleet-related internal safety policy, industry standards, regulation, performance metrics and thresholds

  • Generate well defined test procedures, test cases, and test plans for operations team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical degree

  • 5+ years of automotive or relevant safety-industry experience

  • Experience in AV functional safety and SOTIF approaches & related V&V methodology, or related fields (aviation, robotics, automotive, etc)

  • Experience with FMVSS, SAE, ISO, and other regulatory and technical standards, including ISO 26262, 21448, 9001 or the IEC 61508 standards

  • Experience with safe software standards and compliance

  • Experience with formal software validation and verification methods, to include unit and regressions tests

  • Experience driving code reviews and supporting formal functional safety analysis for safety-critical software

  • Experience in a safety-focused position dealing with highly complex technical systems

  • Extensive experience partnering with or working within one safety-focused government agency (NTSB, DOT etc)

Bonus Points

  • Experience reviewing or authoring safety requirements; technical writing proficiency

  • Experience in Assisted Driving (ADAS) and/or Automated Driving experience

  • Hands-on experience working on an engineering program that delivered a product to market

  • Experience balancing business needs with protecting organizational safety standards

Position Profile Jazz Pharmaceuticals' Information Technology (IT) department is seeking a Manager to facilitate the day-to-day operations of IT Drug Safety and Pharmacovigilance (DSPV) systems. Operational responsibilities include the creation, review, and maintenance of operations plans and validation deliverables and documentation, manage system upgrades and enhancements, and partnership with other Jazz/IT functions (i.e. Compliance, QA, and InfoSec teams) to ensure R&D system compliance and operations. In-depth understanding of the PV systems technology and business processes so that we can guide functions to enable critical PV capabilities Essential Functions * Collaborate with Business Process Owners and IT R&D Capability Enablement Leads to maintain and upgrade Jazz's Drug Safety Systems, including Oracle Argus Safety Database. * In collaboration with the PV Safety Systems Management team and PV Global Case Management team, address or lead necessary regulatory/compliance related system updates or upgrades * Follow Jazz GxP change management procedures and coordinate with PV Safety Systems Management team and PV Global Case Management team to identify, define, resolve or implement issues/requests, and if necessary support/perform validation testing activities * Create, update, and manage operational and system (GxP) documentation and test scripts * Work with vendors, IT business leads, and other R&D functions to resolve system defects and harmonize technology with business process * Plan and execute routine system owner activities, including conducting quarterly user access reviews, managing system upgrades, developing a systems roadmap, routine disaster recovery testing, license management, etc. * Manage various aspects of projects and operations, including scope definition, resource allocation, and budgets * Closely collaborate with the relevant IT, Quality, and other Jazz teams to define and ensure the proper balance of risk mitigation, operational assurance, and validation activities for PV Safety Systems * Work with Capability Enablement Leads to transition new systems implementation to operations Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities * In-depth, procedural and technical, understanding and working knowledge of Oracle Argus Safety Database is required * Experience authoring and working with IT GxP validation and other operational assurance documentation, e.g. URS, FRS, validation plan, disaster recovery plan, etc. * Working knowledge with SQL and backend databases * Experience with IT system ownership and systems operations * Ability to work independently to prioritize support activities and operational needs * Create and maintain systems documentation and operational plans * Ability to resolve end-user issues while demonstrating excellent customer service skills * Good understanding of cloud computing / SaaS (software as a service) and exposure web-based to technologies * Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills * Strong analytical skills and methodical troubleshooting ability * Excellent organizational and follow-up skills with strong attention to detail * Ability to work effectively in a fast paced and collaborative environment * Understanding of clinical research and drug develop processes and functions * Experience working in a regulated GxP environment is desired * Experience with managed services provider (MSP) oversight is a plus Required/Preferred Education and Licenses * Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a four-year accredited college or university and 3 years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
