We're looking for a Head of Security to lead security engineering efforts across our organization. In this unique role, you'll set the vision and direction for your group and tie that work into OpenAI's larger mission.

You will

  • Take a leadership role in driving internal security initiatives

  • Build and evangelize security policies and best practices

  • Provide security guidance on a constant stream of research needs

  • Work directly with our research teams to improve the security of our systems

  • Lead compliance audits for our internal security policies

  • Be responsible for hiring a world-class security team

You may be a fit for this role if you have

  • 8+ years of security experience and 3+ years leading and managing teams in a fast-paced environment

  • Knowledge of attack surfaces for enterprise systems and services

  • Experience defining threat models for a small or medium size organization

  • Demonstrated success with planning and execution of large security projects with multiple business stakeholders

  • Excellence in problem-solving, strategic thinking, and collaboration with cross-functional teams

  • Experience defending against state-level actors is a plus

You will have accountability for achieving the global technical recruiting hiring targets for IES globally working with teams across all channels and regions. Proven track record in growing, motivating and managing co-located and virtual recruitment teams. Experience creating and developing recruiting strategies for technical talent supported by operational depth. Experience building teams that can influence decision making at all levels. Experience building relationships with internal partners at executive levels including VP level. Experience working and partnering cross-functionally and cross-markets to drive results. Experience translating data and analysis into strategic recruitment initiatives. Experience recommending and following through with metric-driven execution, leading others to do the same. Knowledge of HR related regulations and compliance procedures across North America, EMEA and APAC.
