The Head of Program Management will lead, direct and manage program delivery at Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies in order to achieve the annual company revenue plan whilst providing outstanding customer service for all clients from pre-clinical to commercial manufacturing.
They will sponsor the site S&OP process, with direct line management responsibility for the S&OP lead, to ensure that the site delivery plans are aligned with the budget and mid-term plans, that the resource and asset strategies of the business are based on forecasts of customer demand whilst pro-actively identifying and mitigating risks.
Deliver the annual company plan by:
Ensuring Program Managers (PMs) coordinate and track customer program activities by FDB functions and sub-contractors, with integration into deliverable plans.
Understanding the impact of program changes, using past experience and knowledge to coach PMs (or by self when change is major) to create, develop and test options with FDB and customers, securing agreement and implementing revised plans and milestones.
Bringing together a total picture of the complete add-up of customer programs, identifying issues and changes and providing the Site Leadership Team and/or Executive Committee with options when major issues arise
Achieve monthly and quarterly company revenue targets by maximising program milestone success, identifying and assessing options when change occurs, and seeking to balance ups/downs across the portfolio.
Maximize long-term program revenues and profitability by ensuring PMs recognise scope changes on existing work-plans and promote new program activities with customers, developing revised work-plans with additional revenue.
Ensure deliverable and profitable customer programs by development of new work-plans (statements of work) including milestones and timelines with negotiated agreement on them with customers.
Facilitate the development of great customer relationships by ensuring PMs understand and display excellent customer service and by personally representing FDB on the VP level senior steering teams for key accounts.
Underpin the reputation of FDB for superb customer service and as a high achieving profitable business by building and coaching a team of PMs, aligned to customer programs, sharing best practice, being comfortable at dealing with customers at senior level and encouraging a learning environment.
Help FDB to maximize company profitability by ensuring that individual program profitability is tracked and opportunities to increase profitability through scope management, working practices, and shared learning are identified and implemented.
Sponsor the site-wide S&OP process facilitating delivery of budget and MTP by
Tracking, analysing and sharing program KPI performance encouraging and seeking ways to improve.
Working with functional leaders to prioritise site activities versus business and customer needs and make recommendations to the Executive Committee when such prioritisation demands arise.
Maintaining the near-term, mid-term and long-term asset plans and production forecasts. Identify and advise the Executive Committee of bottlenecks / opportunities in the schedule to allow the company to plan or react as necessary.
Complex customer base including very small start-up Biotechs and major pharmaceutical companies thus the job holder must be able to adjust behaviors appropriately and operate comfortably at very senior level.
With customers in Europe, Asia, USA, this job holder must deal with major cultural differences.
Programs are almost always on a customer's critical path and always have issues or change needs, thus they receive intense scrutiny from customers - job holder must manage these ensuring delighted and/or understanding customers whilst protecting the team from undue interference.
Job holder must have an overview of the entire business in order to discharge this role and ensure appropriate decision making that takes into account impacts on all functions.
Each program has its own characteristics thus to do this role the job holder must build a substantial body of knowledge from experience gained on a variety of programs over many years.
BS in chemistry, biochemistry, engineering or microbiology, and 10+ years relevant experience in positions of different disciplines, including minimum 3 years project management and/or marketing and sales.
Experience managing projects valued at $5MM or more.
Proven Account Management/Project Management skills in order to create maintain and enhance customer relationships.
Knowledge of cGMP & FDA regulations.
Detail oriented, motivated, goal oriented, persistent and a skilled negotiator.
High level of initiative and works well in a team environment.
