About the Job:
As the Head of Product you'll take the reins of product strategy and product management. You will take features from conception to launch, work closely with the engineering team, prioritize based on feedback, and serve as the primary voice of the customer. You will also be charged with leading the strategic direction of our platform, keeping close tabs on the evolving needs of our customers and shifting competitive landscape. The ideal candidate combines a strategic mindset and strong product management background, with experience owning all aspects of the product delivery process. You are equally at home meeting with customers to collect feedback as you are driving internal projects to completion. You've demonstrated your abilities writing top-quality specifications when necessary but can balance thoroughness with the need to move quickly, be scrappy, and adhere to tight timelines. You have excellent product vision and judgment as well as a strong technical sense. Metrics form the basis for your decisions.
Build out the product management team for our new freight platform business line
Oversee the strategy and planning for the entire product lifecycle including defining the strategic vision, gathering and prioritizing product requirements and creating customer feedback loops
Collaborate with our executive leadership to solidify our vision and product execution
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape and evaluate market trends to inform improved product development
Design a brand new marketplace from scratch, working closely with data science and engineering
Translate business objectives into the product strategy and successfully execute
Collaborate with the engineering team to develop technical requirements and to define, build and maintain products critical to growth, engagement and retention
Work with customers and all customer-facing organizations to plan and prioritize features and feature requests
Help the company plan and strategize quarterly and annual tech objectives and KPIs
Develop comprehensive go-to-market strategies for impactful product launches and regional expansion
Roll up your sleeves and get deep into core PM duties while setting sights on recruiting, training, and developing a world-class product team
8+ years experience in managing enterprise products for mission-critical systems
BS in Computer Science or related field
Demonstrated success owning product design and delivery
Background in software development and program management
Deep analytical and statistical background
Marketplace experience highly valued
Exceptional organizational and leadership abilities
Passion for talking to customers and working with cross functional teams
Problem-solving aptitude and creative thinking skills
A keen sense for when to build versus partner
Ability to thrive in a fun and fast-paced startup environment
