Job Description

COMC has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Product Development to join our team! This incumbent would be an integral part of the team reporting to the Chief Product Officer. The Head of Product will plan and direct the resources and processes required to implement the vision and strategy for new product development and product lifecycle management of existing products. Establishes research and concept development projects and capabilities to innovate new products, product enhancements, and product redesign. Conducts market analysis and interacts with customers and prospects to identify new markets, articulate the value proposition, define requirements, and lead the development of a product roadmap. Oversees new product development and collaboration with internal stakeholders, including Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Operations, and Finance to prioritize and ensure that new and existing products support the organization's financial goals. Develops teams with the knowledge and expertise to fulfill product development objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • In this role, you will be responsible for the entire lifecycle from business model creation through product implementation and support

  • Partner closely with the business divisions of Engineering, Operations, Sales & Marketing in ideation and delivery of solutions

  • Perform qualitative and quantitative research to discover future/feature ideas and validate them before development

  • Develop project plans and timelines that cover cost, development, testing and deployment of new products

  • Develop milestone-driven schedules for all projects under his/her purview

  • Drive the definition of business and technical requirements, and coordinate the involvement of cross-functional teams to help select, develop and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient operation of the function

  • Work with engineers to help guide feature development

  • Perform quantitative analysis on features' performance and find opportunities for optimization

  • Drive product features through their entire creative cycle: ideation, specification, development, release, analysis, and iteration

  • Lead other product managers

  • Work closely with UI/UX designers to ensure an excellent user experience

  • Interface with business leaders to determine and prioritize initiatives in a product roadmap

  • Developing KPI metrics for each initiative to monitor and measure success of product

  • Refine customer and product requirements and assign them to product features to drive all product development

  • Develop user stories and acceptance criteria for development teams

  • Ensure product design is intuitive, user friendly and in line with COMC brand standards

  • Control excessive proliferation of product or feature variants

  • Ensure cross-functional understanding of product features and success criteria

  • Execute and monitor changes with impact analysis to ensure customer needs are met

  • Create an engineering configuration and corresponding Project Requirement Document (PRD) for review, simulation, and validation

  • Reduce product development duration, cost, and risk by reusing proven and standardized product features or 3rd party solutions

Qualifications

Job Qualifications

  • Seven years experience in a technical project management role

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Design, Linguistics, or related field

  • Prior experience launching a new product or service or owning a product function for a technology focused business

  • Experience leading other product managers at a high performing company

  • Ability to utilize user insights, data, and statistical analyses to inform decisions

The position requires the ability to lift products for testing, up to 25 pounds.
