We're looking for an experienced head of new business to join our growing team. You will be responsible for developing a sales and business development strategy aligned with our strategic priorities. You'll be in charge of developing a pipeline for organic lead generation and developing partnership opportunities. Working with our team, you'll create proposals, pitch, and close new business.

Kohactive is a design and development agency based in Chicago. We work with companies to build web, mobile, and connected devices that solve real-world business problems.

We utilize design thinking and agile methodologies to deliver better products faster. Through our human-centered approach, we help companies listen to their users and build long-lasting innovative solutions.

Requirements

We're looking for somebody with at least 5 years of experience in sales or business development within an agency setting. Ideal candidates will have experience selling design and custom software projects. You should have the ability to target clients and segments and then craft and curate relevant content. You should have experience building multi-channel sales funnels using all sorts of media.

All persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification upon hire.

Defines and develops the Distribution policies and strategies, as aligned with AAM globally * Serves as player/coach for the institutional markets by managing the team as well as some regional coverage. * Sets annual distribution goals, objectives and targets while working closely with the CEO and leadership team. * Drives innovation in product development. * Presents in key industry forums and meets with top tier clients. * Coordinates investment reviews and communicates approaches and philosophies to clients. * Proactively assesses the client's needs through strategic planning and consultation. Strives to achieve and deepen client retention, loyalty and asset growth. Develops strong working relationships with key client decision-makers. * Develops department mission and sets stretch goals and objectives for sales staff aligned with overall company goals. * Provides client service and actively maintains positive relationship with global clients. Creates and maintains the "global model" for distribution activities/relationships. * Develops and maintains relationships with Aegon partners to create global collaboration opportunities. * Leads and manages the Institutional Distribution team. Identifies quality hires and maintains proper levels of training to develop team to provide clients with first class consultation and service. Directs the institutional sales team and mentors their professional development. * Sets performance standards, reviews performance, provides feedback and recommends salary compensation plans that are competitive in the marketplace. * Assists sales team with developing outside business through strategic Aegon introductions, consulting firms, sub-advisory opportunities and separately managed account platforms. * Works closely with portfolio managers and the marketing and legal departments in an effort to build saleable products for distribution partners and future distribution opportunities. * Manages direct reports and others to ensure cooperation and consistencies across various departments/groups. * Enforces accountability for performance and resolves conflicts timely. Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities and accountability of all subordinates are defined and understood. * Maintains effective communication, while also ensuring that those individuals/groups which communicate with Institutional clients are well trained in client service. * Sets the budget for the U.S. Distribution group in line with the overall AAM requirements. Monitors and manages the expenditures in line with budget. * Fosters collaboration within the global and local organizations. Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Finance or related field required. MBA and/or CFA strongly preferred. * Minimum 10 years' of successful institutional and retail sales experience including sales, product development, consultant relationships, marketing communications, and client service at the senior level. * FINRA Licensing Required: Series 3, 7, 24, 63 required. Upon hire into this role, employees must obtain required licenses within 120 days. At the company's discretion, employees will not be allowed to continue in role if required licenses are not obtained within 180 days. * Prior experience development a distribution plan and strategies across a broad organization * Existing positive relationships with plans sponsors and consultants * International and multi-cultural experience preferred. * Superior management and leadership skills; ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports and peers; ability to drive complex situations and projects to the desired outcome. * Thorough understanding of the Institutional business and marketplace * Detailed understanding of processes and associated regulatory requirements in captive and 3rd party asset management businesses * Strong investment acumen, knowledge of the asset management business, and financial aptitude * Ability to interact with people of all levels and diverse personalities/cultures * Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and organizational skills * Ability to set goals and objectives for self and others while monitoring activities and results * Solid working knowledge of budgeting, business development and strategic planning * Strong knowledge of performance measurement practices in financial institutions * Self-reliant, good problem solver, results oriented * Flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a team leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical initiatives Preferred Qualifications: * Master's in Business Administration preferred * International experience preferred * Experience leading global teams preferred Company information Why Work for Us Total Rewards at Transamerica: It's more than a paycheck.
