POSITION SUMMARY

The Head of MMFA Marketing is responsible for the strategy, development, coordination and execution of MassMutual Financial Advisors (MMFA) marketing programs that support the organizations overall business objectives. This individual serves as a member of the leadership team, the role requires effective collaboration and partnership with Distribution, Product, Brand Marketing, Field Partners, Executive Leadership, and other key partners to build and deliver comprehensive programs and campaigns that support the firm's suite of solutions and distribution strategy.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Key responsibilities include strategic planning, business development, product marketing, field engagement, innovation and marketing communications.

  • Oversees all aspects of the MMFA's Marketing functions; helps develop and implement MMFA's annual and long-term business, sales and marketing strategies

  • Know the constituents needs, market dynamics, competitive landscape and technical information

  • Continuously improve/innovate delivery of product, advisor, constituent content to improve user experience, efficiency and engagement

  • Understand MMFA deployments holistically and influence product deployment & marketing decisions.

  • Participate in MMFA product portfolio discussions and contribute to new product development; determine & communicate impacts

  • Coordinates the development and implementation of marketing activities with other areas of the organization (e.g., Workplace, Corporate, etc.). Interfaces with other Leaders in the organization to ensure collaboration with appropriate businesses

  • Oversees the creation of all collateral materials. Work with leadership team to ensure a consistent look, voice and message among all marketing materials to include product/sales collateral, wholesale materials, social media, marketing campaigns, and all other communication both internal and external.

  • Ensure full engagement of key stakeholders via ongoing communication and review of results. Activities may include: delivering updates, reporting on results and successes, assessing effectiveness, recommending areas of improvement, measuring success

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A strategic yet execution-oriented, proactive, creative and innovative thinker.

  • Demonstrated success of driving revenue and maximizing company profits

  • Ability to work well cross functionally to build alignment and reach objectives

  • Ability to clearly articulate client needs and insights through actively interacting with internal and external clients to understand their needs and determine an experience, content, and marketing communications initiatives.

  • Strong interpersonal capabilities; ability to develop strong trust-based relationships and manage effectively; ability to build and motivate high-functioning teams

  • Strong business acumen including exposure/experience in Marketing, sales, operations management, budgeting, forecasting and economics

  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to influence teams and key decision makers and lead an organization through change

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred

  • Series 7 & 24 (or obtain within 6 months)

  • At least ten (10) years' Marketing experience

  • 5 years Leadership experience

  • Experience working in a complex business environment, ideally financial services industry

  • Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Description Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Head of MMFA Finance, this position is responsible for consolidating, interpreting and improving upon the financial information available to assist MMFA Management with driving the strategic objectives for the channel and improving upon current financial metrics. The incumbent will assist MMFA leadership on driving strategy along with initiating recommendations to improve upon financial results for the distribution channel, including field management, compensation design and MassMutual proprietary products. The incumbent will have direct management responsibility for the MMFA variable incentive compensation and recognition reporting teams. The incumbent will also work with key partners across the organization such as product management, MMLIS/MMLIA, compensation design and field recognition to ensure that strategic and financial objectives are aligned to drive the current selling ratios for MMFA. ________________________________________________________________________________ Principal Responsibilities: The responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: * Provide strategic direction and solutions to drive compensation program * Works closely with Leadership team to provide input to compensation strategy opportunities and challenges * Design a process to align MMFA strategy with the pertinent financial information currently available from multiple sources (MMFA Finance, Product Management, Corporate Finance, Compensation Design, etc.) and summarize/interpret the results for MMFA Management * In collaboration with concerned stakeholders, develop and provide MMFA Leadership with recommendations on how to improve upon financial results/selling ratios while driving MMFA strategic initiatives. * Lead, mentor & coach a variable incentive compensation & recognition program management team. * Create, design, develop and execute on variable incentive compensation plans aligning with corporate objectives while ensuring a competitive edge in the market place. Manage a budget of over $12 million dollars annually with a focus on pay for performance. * Create, design, develop and execute recognition program and conference reports aligning with the specifications of each program/conference. * Manage the reporting and administration of all field recognition programs, sales contests, and conference qualifications. * Be a strategic partner, collaborating with the compensation design team and contribute to projects, including but not limited to benchmarking, focus groups, plan design, modeling and migration planning. _________________________________________________________________________________ Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Required: * Proven project management skills * Team player with ability to engage people from a number of departments inside/outside of MMFA (Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and foster teamwork) * Knowledge of the MassMutual Financial Reporting Systems * Understanding of Value of New Business and other Profitability measures for the insurance industry, including affiliated broker dealer(s) * Ability to communicate complex topics in a summarized, simplified manner * Solid understanding of MassMutual products and services, inclusive of MMLIS/MMLIA * Familiar with the dynamic of a career distribution channel * Excellent organizational, mathematical and analytical abilities * Sound business judgment * Strong verbal and written communication (presentation) skills ______________________________________________________________________________ Other Comments: * Position will be located in Springfield, MA.
