Job Description Summary:

The Head of Insurance is responsible for heading up all of PayPal's Insurance needs. This role reports to the VP, Treasury and will be based in San Jose.

Job Description:

  • Work with broker community to place our programs in the right global markets

  • Understand Insurance and Regulatory Insurance requirements in which PayPal operates

  • Work with legal and underwriters and manage insurance claims

  • Manage our Insurance Programs that cover management liability, crime, technology errors & omissions, cyber risk, bankers' professional liability, employment practice liability, and any other specialty coverage needs (ie aviation)

  • Provide advice and consultancy to our organic business, vendor management, and engage with our Corporate Development teams on acquisition related initiatives

  • Support our customer facing products with insurance components

  • Be our main liaison to our Risk, Compliance and Audit functions

  • Be secretary to the Capital Structure Committee (one of 6 operating risk committee's)


  • 12+ years Insurance/Finance/Risk Management experience

  • Industry experience from the Technology, Financial Services, and Fintech

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent; MBA preferred

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills

  • Strong analytical and project management skills including Excel and other analytical tools (e.g., Tableau)

  • Proven track record of cross functional collaboration and driving results in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment

  • People leadership and development

  • Resourceful, self-starter

  • Results focused with strong personal accountability and pride of work

  • Exceptionally organized with the capability to manage competing priorities

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment
