The Information Security Governance, Compliance and Risk Management leader reports to the Chief Information Security Officer to implement and manage FCA's Information Security policies, standards and compliance activities.

The position has responsibility for:

  • Definition of standards and processes to effectively measure and manage third party risk

  • Definition of information security policies, standards and compliance measures

  • Supporting audit initiatives and risk evaluations

  • Performing risk assessments and action plans

  • Development of compliance policies and program management (eg. data privacy, SOX, PII)

  • Creation and assessment of technical standards for compliance

  • Compliance training plans

We are looking for a strong leader of people with an exceptional understanding of the subject matter and experience in supporting programs like SOX and data privacy. This is a highly visible global leadership role. The right candidate must have excellent engagement and communication skills with senior enterprise stakeholders, IT leadership and solution delivery peers, and must have a strong customer-focused, team-oriented approach that balances security needs and user experience to provide effective security to the organization.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university

  • Minimum of 10 years of technology experience or functional experience in similar roles

  • 8+ years of experience facilitating development and implementation of business initiatives/projects based on management objectives

  • Previous governance experience

  • 4+ years of supervisory experience leading teams and direct reports

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Information Technology or equivalent

  • CISSP or related certification

  • Global exposure and experience

  • Strong collaboration, teamwork and relationship building skills across multiple levels and functions in the organization

  • Ability to listen, build relationship and credibility as a strategic partner vertically within the business unit or function, as well as with leadership and functional teams

  • A strategic thinker focused on business value results that utilize technical solutions

  • Skilled in business process management

  • Ability to set expectations with business partners and effectively leverage governance for a positive business partner experience

  • Exceptional ability to lead change using positive and collaborative methods

  • Strong communication skills in writing, speaking, and presenting

  • Able to communicate technical or complex subject matter in business terms

  • An outside-in focus: outstanding end-customer relationship skills

  • Highly skilled at creating business requirements documents, use cases, business cases

  • Demonstrated acumen and passion for business and latest technology

  • Highly self-motivated

Key Responsibilities: Relying on expert knowledge and advanced leadership skills, the Vice President of Risk Control is accountable for the following responsibilities: * Oversee Risk Control unit including the review of new and renewal policy information; responsible for managing and reducing risk exposure for insured public entities including but not limited to towns, cities, villages, counties, and various special governmental districts. * Ensure unit meets established guidelines and adheres to all company policy and procedures. * Perform all applicable Risk Control activities and review the work of other departmental staff. * Design, review, and recommend policies, processes, procedures, and rules to meet internal and external reporting requirements, improve operational efficiency and safeguard corporate assets. Plan and execute implementation. * Review contracts and agreements for insureds. * Participate in the development of work unit or department goals and provide oversight and support in goal attainment. * Cultivate relationships with internal and external contacts to facilitate the risk control process, promote business development, and to remain abreast of industry trends. * Serve as a resource to departmental staff with regards to procedures, departmental guidelines, and industry trends and developments. * Conduct audits of insured entity applications and risk control file information to determine exposure, compliance and any necessary follow up. * Research and provide resource material and continuing education for policyholders to aid in managing liability exposure. * Manage, train and develop the Risk Control staff through online and direct one-on-one visits. * In collaboration with underwriting, claims and actuary, continuously optimize and evaluate the Risk Control survey questions used by Risk Control Representatives with our insureds. Position Knowledge, Skills and Requirements: Education * Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, a related field, or the equivalent education and/or experience * Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Risk Management for Public Entities (RMPE) and/or equivalent insurance designation * Property and Casualty Agent License preferred Experience * Minimum of twelve years of relevant and progressive Risk Control experience gained from working in the Risk Management or Insurance industry with knowledge of Risk Control areas such as property management, auto fleet management, Law Enforcement, Corrections, Human Resources, etc. * Minimum of eight years of management and leadership experience Other * Possess and have ability to apply advanced knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures * Excellent written and verbal communications skills with an emphasis on confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy * Superior organizational and analytical skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously * Knowledgeable of industry changes, legal updates, and technical developments related to applicable area of the Company's business to proactively respond to changing business environment * Advanced proficiency and experience using Microsoft Office package (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word) Working Conditions and Physical Demands: * Overtime hours may be required to fulfill job responsibilities * Requires travel outside normal work location up to 75% of time * May require a valid driver's license * May be required to remain stationary for extended periods of time * May be required to move up to 10 pounds * Must be able to operate a computer and other devices * Close vision and ability to adjust focus, such as required to read a computer screen #GI #CB HCC Life Insurance Auburn Hills MI
