Job Description:

The Head of IARIC Quality and Continuous Improvement for the Internal Audit, Risk, and Internal Controls (IARIC) function owns the IARIC quality strategy and framework, manages the IARIC development portfolio, owns and drives the cross-functional IARIC projects, manages IARIC competence and people development framework and activities as well as owns the IARIC communication strategy and framework. In addition, as a team lead, this person oversees the management of the IARIC tools and related vendors, cost controlling, IARIC knowledge management, and Executive/Board reporting preparations.

Location: Milan, Italy, preferred, but other European locations with HE presence can be considered.

Your responsibilities:

IARIC quality strategy and framework: Owns and defines the IARIC quality strategy and framework, implements quality as part of the daily IARIC activities and processes in close collaboration with the IARIC teams. Executes, monitors, and reports the IARIC quality measures as part of the IARIC KPI framework.

IARIC development portfolio: Manages the IARIC development portfolio, consolidated from team specific improvement activities to cross-functional (system) initiatives. Defines and implements relevant, lean project methodologies to support the IARIC teams in project management and ensures, in collaboration with the IARIC teams, that projects and development portfolio stay in budget.

Cross-functional IARIC projects: Owner of the cross-functional IARIC projects involving more than one IARIC team, e.g. system implementations. Engages and assigns responsibility to the specific IARIC teams and leaders during the project, owns and manages the relationship with project consultants and other vendors during the project, keeps relevant HE stakeholders informed and works in close collaboration with the nominated project manager.

IARIC competence and people development framework: Together with the Head of IARIC and other IARIC leaders defines a common competence portfolio across the IARIC teams, aligned with preferred Finance and Hitachi Energy competencies. Defines any future competence requirements and a roadmap to achieve those.

IARIC communication strategy and framework: Owns and defines the IARIC communication strategy and framework in close collaboration with Hitachi Energy and Finance Communications.

Manages and leads the IARIC Quality and Continuous Improvement team which embraces diversity and inclusion. Coaches, develops and plans the future growth paths for the team.

Competencies and Knowledge Required

  • Master's degree or equivalent in business administration / economics or engineering, or other suitable background.

  • Excellent written and spoken English, strong presentation skills.

  • Strong collaboration and change management competences, open to different views and opinions, but facilitates and designs effective solutions in an efficient manner.

  • Knows how to effectively implement and apply quality development, portfolio management, and project management in different environments and teams.

  • Takes problems and issues as challenges to be solved, seeks contribution and forms working groups across team boundaries to find the best outcome. 'Can do' mindset with on-time delivery.

Experience Required

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in quality management, development programs, portfolio and/or project management. Experience in people development and communication development / change management communication appreciated.

  • Experience in interacting with senior management and other stakeholders in a matrix organization; proven ability in building strong relationships across organizations globally and across functions and units.

  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead teams and under high pressure in challenging environments.

  • Experience from large fast-moving international companies, with locations across all time-zones, and in which remote work and virtual meetings are mainstream.
