We are in search for a Head of Global Workplace to oversee the day to day running of our global facility portfolio and to lead a best in class facility management and operations team, comprising approximately 40 full time employees and over 100 outsourced team members. This position will be located in Pinterest Corporate HQ, San Francisco, CA, where we have the largest concentration of employees in the fast growth area of the SOMA district. Pinterest is in ~30 locations, up to 500K sq ft, in 20+ countries supporting approximately 2,000 employees. The planning, design, construction and management of this portfolio is led by our Global Workplace team. What you'll do:
Manage a Workplace org of 40 people including, Real Estate and Design & Construction, WP Operations that manages security, hospitality, shipping/receiving, space planning and moves, building engineering and cuisine to ensure that WP goals and objectives are achieved
Responsible for planning, sourcing and managing the real estate and major projects for over 30 building locations. Responsibilities include all real estate strategy, implementation and policy for Pinterest locations, management of major capital and maintenance projects, building, sustainability and code compliance programs. Drive our strategy with external brokers, and work to find the best places for our facilities
Financial Management by planning, submitting, reviewing and managing the significant global facility expense and capital budget for the company partnering closely with Financial Planning & Analysis
Partner across the org to understand regional business strategies and translate them to facility operational requirements, providing quality facility services
Partner with procurement and legal on the vendor selection process and the contract process and ensure all appropriate contracts are in place with suppliers within the function
Communicate with internal stakeholders & leaders to ensure alignment and smooth execution of facility projects on time and within budget
What we're looking for:
10-15 years of corporate facility and/or construction management experience
Requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in facility planning, capital projects, engineering, or a combination with demonstrated strategic planning, with 10+ years of experience in leadership roles, ideally for a fast paced technology company
Experience in working globally and across cultures
Experience in contract management or procurement of multiple projects associated with Real Estate, Construction, Facilities Management or Engineering
Facilities certification preferred (CFM, IFMA credentials, PMP certification)
Extensive management experience in the following: running global organizations, staff development, design and construction, outsourcing and contractor management, facilities maintenance and operations
Extensive knowledge of financial management practices and budget planning procedures
Demonstrated leadership experience including building and managing global teams, leading change management, and managing crisis situations
Travel to global facility locations and teams (approximately 25% of the time) to ensure alignment and build relationships
Demonstrated skill at delivering to performance objectives, for scope, schedule and cost
