Facebook's Art Department includes the Artist in Residence program (FB AIR), Analog Research Lab (ARL), and Creative Engagement programs, which have a collective mission to encourage creativity, innovation, openness, and connectivity through art and design. FB AIR invites artists to create site-specific art installations around the world at Facebook offices, and our Analog Labs as on-site print studios that fill our walls with value-based print work and host immersive learning experiences through the Creative Engagement programming.

The Head of these programs will be responsible for company-wide efforts to steward the company's art, communication design, and creative education programs. They will be responsible for bringing authentic, creative narratives to life in our global spaces through partnerships with our Communications, Real Estate, Facilities, Policy, and Legal partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Articulate a vision for the program and nurture its evolution to ensure that our uniquely inspiring creative culture has the potential to reach everyone in our employee community

Support a growing and global team of designers, curators and teaching artists

Demonstrated ability to attract and retain talent with past teams

Establish clear priorities, roles and responsibilities for teams and programs so they can sustainably scale

Plan and manage a significant global budget for personnel, equipment, and programming

Work in close partnership with Facebook's Facilities teams to agree on standards and budgeting practices to enable staff to deliver stellar spatial conversations between architecture, art and design

Advocate for art and design within a corporate environment

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years management experience of distributed teams
    10+ years design, arts administration, arts education or similar field experience

Experience working with artists or designers

Education and Training: BA/BS

Demonstrated experience managing department, project, and program budgets

Proven track record of helping build team dynamics

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in modern/contemporary art, design, and arts education

Experience with Social media/marketing strategy to build awareness of and engagement in programs

Experience building best practices for planning, implementing and managing visual arts and hands-on programs for diverse, non-art communities

MA/MS in design, art history, arts administration or related field

RESPONSIBILITIES * Partner closely with engineering leads and cross-functional disciplines to evolve Facebook's performance and reliability strategy. Provide hands-on program management during analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post implementation phases across multiple product and infrastructure teams. Provide day-to-day execution support and guidance for engineering projects, coordinating efforts across organizations and verticals. Communicate project status to stakeholders and various key teams around the organization. Drive internal process improvements across multiple teams and functions. Help drive product, mobile infrastructure and tooling decisions to align with higher company initiatives. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * B.S. in Computer Science, EE or equivalent experience. At least two years of technical product or program management experience. Experience communicating and translating non-technical to technical (and vice versa) requirements and discussions. Experience working across multiple cross-functional teams and collaborating on solutions.
