Job Description

  • Wayfair is looking for an experienced, cross-functional leader who will be responsible for developing and executing our corporate social responsibility, volunteerism, and philanthropic strategies. Reporting to the Director of Government Affairs, this position will work closely with our Environmental Sustainability, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Corporate Communications teams, as well as senior leaders and external partners. This is a unique opportunity to create and implement a high-impact CSR strategy that both shapes the employee experience at Wayfair and reaches a variety of stakeholders.

  • Corporate philanthropy
  • Manage Wayfair's corporate philanthropic approach, including the company's Employee Matching Program and ensure the company is investing in a responsible, engaging and thoughtful way that aligns to our values
  • Employee volunteering and engagement
  • Work with internal stakeholders across our business (including employee engagement specialists, site directors, employee resource groups), as well as external organizations to create unique opportunities for our employees to act upon company values in local communities
  • Communications
  • Develop and execute CSR communication plans in partnership with the corporate and internal communications teams, to raise visibility of Wayfair's CSR strategy with key stakeholders
  • Identify and manage corporate partnerships
  • Oversee existing corporate charitable partnerships and identify new corporate partnerships that align with our core values
  • Cause marketing
  • Collaborate with Wayfair's marketing and brand teams to create cause marketing campaigns to reach customers with content that showcases who we are and what we believe as a company
  • Community engagement
  • Represent Wayfair externally at relevant community events, ceremonies and media opportunities
  • Reporting and analytics
  • Develop methods to measure the effectiveness and impact of all implemented programs and help drive ongoing ESG reporting processes

Specify profile and skills

  • Strong leadership and management experience
  • Ability to lead a cross-functional stakeholders and a proven ability to lead change initiatives
  • Operational acumen
  • 8+ years of experience independently developing a strategy and driving tangible results across teams in an ambiguous environment while leveraging data from a multitude of sources to tell a story and impact the overarching strategy; CSR experience a plus
  • Program and project expertise
  • Experience driving cross-functional projects/programs to completion, including identifying opportunities, determining return on investment and risks, gathering requirements, managing stakeholders, and training and change management
  • Stakeholder management savvy
  • Ability to build rapport at all levels of the organization, leveraging internal and external networks, and driving consensus through the use of data and an educated viewpoint
  • Strong communication ability
  • Written, verbal and listening skills to engage internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and drive Wayfair's CSR strategy
  • Technology focus
  • Interest in and aptitude to learn, evaluate and explore technologies and develop tech solutions to real world problems
  • Data savvy
  • Able to analyze data, identify trends, and deliver proposals that are clear, engaging, data-based, accurate, and aligned with Wayfair's goals

The Director of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) will lead Toast.org- Toast's grassroots initiative to drive impact in the restaurant ecosystem and food community. They will report directly to our Chief People Officer and work closely with our CEO & Chief of Staff. This newly created role will help develop and drive the corporate responsibility strategy for all of Toast.org. They should have experience developing CSR strategies from the ground up, facilitating internal stakeholder engagement and creating external partnerships that drive us towards our mission. About this roll*: * Lead and refine Toast.org's community and local social impact strategy by building/maintaining positive relationships with appropriate non-profit organizations * Partner with the Leadership Team to develop and implement Toast.org's 503c mission and strategy * Establish critical metrics and lead measurement efforts for all social impact initiatives and develop quarterly and annual CSR/social impact reports to be shared with key stakeholders (internal & external) * Develop the overarching objectives, strategy, & investment recommendations while reviewing/vetting proposals and managing the budget for Toast.org * Lead the communication strategy for Toast.org's social impact work, in partnership with Marketing and PR Teams, to address all major constituents (employees, non profit partners, etc.) * Lead and mobilize the current Toast.org Impact Council Do you have the right ingredients*? * Leadership experience in a non-profit organization or a corporate Impact focused role (preferably in the high growth technology and/or food ecosystem) * Demonstrated ability to perform in a fast-paced environment * Excellent communication skills, including dealing with executives and senior management Special Sauce: * MBA * Bread puns encouraged but not required Toast Boston MA
