What you'll do

You will also be responsible for the change management and policies that safeguard our general ledger and financial reporting structures. Your expertise and leadership will play a pivotal role in evolving Canva's capabilities in this space, while ensuring that our processes and policies support the scale and complexity of a rapidly-expanding company. You will

  • Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant standards.

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing corporate accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

  • Oversee the development and ongoing maintenance of effective internal controls to safeguard our accounting and close processes and enhance the reliability of financial information.

  • Assess and mitigate financial risks, providing recommendations for improvements and optimization.

  • Drive collaboration across departments to enhance cross-functional understanding of financial processes and outcomes.

  • Streamline and optimize financial processes, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

  • Identify opportunities for system enhancements and lead implementation efforts to ensure the scalability of financial operations.
