Zayo is seeking a Head of Business Operations and Strategy to serve as a trusted advisor to the SVP of Managed Services to help anticipate, design, lead, operationalize, and execute on strategic initiatives as well as lead and support the continuous improvement of Business Operations. This role sits at the intersection of Zayo's Managed Services vision and execution, utilizing a strategic mindset with the ability to synthesize data for decision making, actively execute on initiatives, and partner with other leaders, enabling the best outcomes for our largest strategic initiatives. The Head of Business Operations and Strategy owns the rhythm of business and partners with other Heads of and VPs to influence our culture, define our people's investments, and define strategic initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Trusted advisor to SVP, Managed Services to help anticipate, lead, operationalize, and execute Managed Services' most strategic initiatives
Lead cross-functional partnerships with other leaders and groups within Zayo, with particular focus on Finance, GTM, and IT
In close collaboration with other leaders, establish and monitor key goals, OKRs and KPIs to track the efficiency and effectiveness of the Managed Services business unit. Deliver data driven dashboards and reporting that can be used by the product, engineering, delivery, and assurance functions to improve decision making
Drive accountability across teams by ensuring that appropriate cadence, milestones, and relevant measurements are established
Run and manage all business rhythm meetings such as Monthly Operating Reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews with external Board or investors, internal Monthly Business Reviews, All Hands, employee skip level or other internal communications related items
Lead and own budget management and financial reporting. Own and direct all budget performance, tracking and escalations for total spend across both Opex and Capex at the BU level. Partnering with our Finance and FP&A teams on management of financial performance and production of reports
Manage capital labor expenditures against target, tracking progress and driving accountability across the teams
Direct responsibility for all of our vendor management strategy partnering with Corporate Procurement
Direct and create all processes and presentations for key operational meetings internally and Board or Committee meetings
Compose documents and presentations for the SVP, Managed Services for executive and Board meetings
Triaging escalations that come to the SVP, Managed Services and alert SVP and/or other executives only when problems necessitate senior leader intervention or decisions, and ranking problems as they arise
Advising and working directly with the SVP, Managed Services to plan, develop, and/or update new policies and strategies that improve business processes across the organization
Supporting executive and organizational-level communications (internal and external)
Managing a team of resources to delivery a portfolio of work (analysts, managers, project managers, communications, etc.)
Work with other Business Unit Leadership to establish strategy and execution plans, including program management of strategic/long-range planning (LRP) efforts and annual planning.
Standardize processes to gather, aggregate, and synthesize various sources of internal and external input to generate insights that can be leveraged during Monthly Operating Reviews, quarterly planning and Value Articulation. Improve how we act on feedback from the market to inform product planning.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, or a related discipline or prior work experience in one or more of these disciplines; MBA a plus
Minimum of 10 (ten) years of proven experience leading large-scale, cross-organizational, complex enterprise programs or projects utilizing internal and vendor resources
Financial modeling, forecasting and analytical skills: ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions (in partnership with FP&A and business leaders)
Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills including presentation design and implementation, presenting and communicating to large groups across all levels of the organization in an effective, situationally appropriate, clear, and high-quality manner
Capable of both strong leadership as well as individual contribution and influence across non-direct reporting teams
Experience in defining and executing large strategic initiatives while also ensuring day-to-day business activities continue to run smoothly
Experience effectively interacting with executives and senior leaders
Experience with building effective business processes and communication strategies for diverse teams
Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders throughout the organization
Ability to translate ideas into clear, high impact communications
Ability to maintain good judgment in fast-paced environments
Ability to excel in an ambiguous environment, orchestrating strategic and complex business activity
Ability to jump from detailed financial analysis to high level strategic discussion to tactical execution to process improvement
Strong project management capabilities with planning and setting timelines up to meet operational deadlines
Ability to quickly prioritize and be decisive with time commitment
Demonstrated investigational and problem solving skills.

Base Salary Range: $180,000 - $200,000, commensurate with experience
