The Role:

As the Head of Business Legal Affairs at EVERY, you will be instrumental in shaping the legal architecture of our business operations and spearheading various legal functions within the realms of food manufacturing and consumer packaged goods (CPG). Your role primarily involves leveraging your legal expertise in the commercial domain, where you will be tasked with creating, reviewing, and providing counsel on diverse commercial contracts to foster our cutting-edge food technology initiatives. Additionally, you'll oversee our commercial paralegal management. The role offers the prospect of leading other legal domains as necessitated. You will report directly to the COO of EVERY.

What you'll accomplish

• Prioritizing, driving, and owning from start to finish, all aspects of our supply and commercial contracts with an emphasis on quick thinking, excellent partnership, and creative strategic solutions.

• Orchestrating the formulation, negotiation, and finalization of an array of other contracts including partnership and service agreements pertinent to the food manufacturing and CPG sectors.

• Delivering expert legal advice to our leadership and operational teams regarding contractual commitments, risk evaluation, and regulatory compliance to further EVERY's strategic aims.

• Acting as the go-to legal advisor for matters related to contracts, including educating and assisting internal teams on legal and contractual issues.

• Ensuring a collaborative effort with the R&D, sales, and procurement departments to align contracts with EVERY's strategic objectives and innovative projects.

• Establishing objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for the legal departments under your purview.

What you bring (required)

• Minimum of 10 years of legal experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have at least 4 years (some years of experience to have seen enough to do the job well)

• In-house experience in the food industry or CPG space

• Proven track record in leading the negotiation and management of commercial contracts, with a deep understanding of food or manufacturing legal considerations

• Excellent legal and business judgment, with the ability to act as both a legal and strategic advisor to the business.

• Strong leadership skills with experience in managing cross-functional projects and advising senior management on legal and risk management issues.

• Exceptional communication skills, capable of conveying complex legal concepts clearly and effectively to non-legal stakeholders.

Pay Range: $230,000 - $250,000 + Stock Options

At EVERY pay ranges are subject to change and assigned to a job based on the location specific market median of similar jobs according to 3rd party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary for several reasons including skills/capabilities, experience, and available budget.
