We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as the Head of Business Development! This person represents the Credit Union before members, potential members, and Select Employer Groups (SEGs).
This position is responsible for:
Actively promoting a positive work environment and encouraging teamwork and open communication within the department and the Credit Union. Embraces and champions change with a positive approach and mindset.
Establishing and maintaining engaging relationships with current and prospective HR executives at SEGs and Associations.
Designing and implementing customized strategies for increasing member penetration within the markets we serve and fostering collaboration across the Business Development team and the rest of the Credit Union.
Leading Business Development Managers to ensure Credit Union strategies and goals for membership growth are well-defined and being met.
Developing and implementing a business development plan and tactical strategies.
Developing, updating, and communicating department policies and procedures.
Monitoring member/customer service practices of business development staff to ensure they meet Credit Union guidelines.
Coaching and conducting regular 1:1's/debrief sessions, and developing/cultivating talent in the team, ensuring a culture of top performers that meet and exceed their goals.
In conjunction with Marketing, develops traditional and digital outreach strategies that enable growth and scale to meet Credit Union organizational growth objectives.
Negotiating support and Credit Union employee attendance for onsite visits including SEG employee orientations and other events.
Developing and executing plans to effectively penetrate SEG groups.
Developing and maintaining a contact management database, including key facility contacts, facility information and site statistics (size, growth, shrinkage, relocation plans, available marketing channels, history, results of past sales efforts and product usage records).
Holding sales meetings to discuss goals, achievements, and performance improvements on a regular basis.
Effectively conducting cost/benefit analysis on all business development efforts.
Increasing membership penetration and usage of services to meet growth and retention goals set by management.
Effectively supporting a consistent and positive brand image for the credit union within the marketplace.
Strong strategic planning skills.
Demonstrated leadership and management skills.
Effective coaching and mentoring skills.
Must possess a superior level of member service, be a positive role model for staff, and demonstrate a high level of commitment to the organization.
Innovational mindset with a focus on creating growth and efficiencies for the Credit Union.

Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and organizational skills.
Must have a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Practical knowledge of sales principles and techniques.
Knowledge of the credit union industry preferred.
Active involvement and membership in community organizations.
Ability to exercise appropriate judgment in interpreting growth opportunities and generating support from sponsor representatives.
Thorough knowledge of general economic conditions and consumer & competitive trends.
