West Virginia University Institute of Technology (WVU Tech), part of the WVU system of campuses, is seeking a self-motivated and driven Head Men's Soccer Coach.

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the WVU Tech Director of Athletics, you will be responsible for coaching and managing all aspects associated with a collegiate men's soccer program.

What you'll do:

  • Duties include total responsibilities as required for an NAIA Division I or NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Program.

  • Attend all departmental meetings.

  • Prepare NAIA and/or NCAA, institutional scholarship award forms and submitting signed contracts for scholarships.

  • Evaluate talent in current and prospective student-athletes.

  • Organize and conduct a strength conditioning program.

  • Provide compliance director with freshman and returning player's information to complete eligibility form.

  • Coordinate team meetings, athletic study halls for Men's Soccer athletes, strength and conditioning work outs, etc.

  • Monitor the academic progress, retention rates and graduation rates of Men's Soccer players.

  • Responsible for discipline and conduct of student-athletes participating in Men's Soccer.

  • Remain current and adhere to all Institutional, NCAA and/or NAIA rules

  • Responsible for annual inventories and preparation for equipment purchases according to state purchasing policies.

  • Responsible for all travel arrangements and taking care of travel expenses according to state policies.

  • Fundraising responsibilities and working with outside groups to receive funds for athletics and Men's Soccer.

  • Maintain a competitive Men's Soccer program.

  • Responsible for recruiting quality student athletes that meets the criteria established by the Athletic Administration.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.

  • Bachelor's degree required (in appropriate area of specialization).

  • A minumum of two (2) years of experience in the following:

  • Soccer Coaching Experience

  • Athletic administration experience

  • Public relations experience

  • Conducting Soccer camps/clinics

  • Recruiting

  • A proven record in working positively with administration, athletic department staff and Director of Athletics in developing and maintaining a good working relationship with the institution and the community.

  • Computer experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Soccer Coaching Experience at high school or collegiate level
