Jun 24, 2024 Description: A minimum of Bachelor's degree required with successful background in coaching, preferably on the college level; administrative, organizational and recruiting skills; ability to establish good rapport and working relationships with student athletes, coaches and the college community; knowledge of NAIA rules and regulations. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares an agenda/itinerary for all team travel. Travel rosters shall be presented to the Athletics Director 48 hours prior to the time of departure; Coordinates study hall for student athletes under his/her supervision; Organizes and conducts practice sessions on a regularly scheduled basis; Prepares a list of all basic and special needs for travel and for home contests. The Athletic Director and Game Day Coordinator shall be provided with a copy of this list of needs 10 days prior to the time of need; Responsible for the inventory and issuance of all supplies for his/her sports activity; Assists in the preparation of an Athlete Handbook and or orientation manual for the student athletes under his/her supervision.
The handbook/orientation manual shall be presented and discussed with student athletes prior to any participation in a particular sports activity; Responsible for supervising the conduct and behavior of all student athletes under his/her supervision, on as well as off campus; Monitors the academic progress of all student athletes under his/her supervision.
The academic monitoring of student athletes shall be conducted bi-weekly; Responsible for submitting a weekly progress report to the Athletic Director; Responsible for establishing and maintaining a profile folder on each student athlete under his/her supervision; Obtains a health clearance from the health services for each student athlete participating in the sports activity for which he/she is responsible. The health clearance shall be secured prior to allowing the student athlete to participate in any athletic activity/event; Responsible for the recruitment of participants (both on and off campus) for the sports activity for which he/she is responsible; In the recruitment of student athletes both on and off campus, the Head Coach is responsible for informing students of the institution's policy on financial assistance. The College will only honor written information that has been approved by the Athletic Director and the Vice President for Student Affairs; Responsible for submitting a proposed schedule of games for their particular sport; Performs other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
