The Department of Athletics at Keiser University has an immediate opening for a Head Fishing Coach. The head coach is responsible for all team activities for the fishing program and requires an individual with knowledge and experience in training all facets of fishing including freshwater and saltwater. The successful candidate must be committed to the academic and athletic development of all participants and adhere to all University policies and procedures.
The head coach will serve as an instructor for saltwater and freshwater fishing
Recruit quality student-athletes and ensure timely submission of their academic records for admissions
Monitor and maintain the discipline and conduct of student-athletes to support the image and reputation of the University
Actively participate in all college activities that lead to student recruitment, retention and completion
Maintain and inventory supplies and uniforms and place orders as needed
Provide strong and affirmative leadership for all athletes
Coordinate team activities, such as practices and competitions
Fundraising opportunities for the program, and other events
Other duties as assigned by the University
Two or more years of proven work experience in the fishing industry
Knowledge of College Bass Fishing rules and requirements
Possess and maintain CPR/First aid/AED certification
Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, and organizational skills
Possess solid written communication skills
Possess highly developed analytical, organizational and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively as well as establish and maintain effective relationships with the community, faculty, students, staff and alumni
Demonstrated creativity and initiative
This is a part time position that requires day, evening and weekend availability.
