Governors State University invites qualified applicants to apply for the Head Esports Coach position. The Athletics Department works as a vital piece in the establishment of our student-athletes.
The Head Coach role is to establish a winning team through recruiting, practicing, training, and scheduling and promote the values of Governors State University and the NAIA Champions of Character program that include integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership. The Head Coach must be familiar with the NAIA and CCAC rules. The Head Esports Coach is responsible for the overall management of the Esports program, to include:25% Oversee the technical and tactical development through practices, games and classroom instruction.25% Oversee the academic progress of Esports student-athletes25% Recruitment10% Supervise and evaluate assistant coaches 5% Promote the Esports program through, camps, clinics, talks, events and media 8% Manage the budget for Esports 2% Coordinate and/or facilitate special projects as needed.Other Responsibilities:The Head Esports is responsible for the supervision and coaching of National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) student-athletes, under the guidelines of the University, Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) and NAIA policies and procedures.Attend and participates in all training, games, preparation and team related functions.Must be able to demonstrate ability to recruit students-athletes.Promote the Governors State University Athletic Brand.Work proactively without close supervision and demonstrates initiative.Assists with questions and problems courteously and promptly."
