Head Cook - Southside Elementary School

Duties:

Primary responsibilities relate to cafeteria operation, ordering, records, general preparation and service of meals to students. Assist with food service operation for District's food service program; serve as a member of the District's food service team; work cooperatively with District and building-level food service personnel to prepare/serve attractive and nutritious meals for students; assist with necessary clean-up of cafeteria area; assist with maintaining a safe and sanitary kitchen

Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent required

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and with limited supervision as well as work effectively and cooperatively with other members of the food service team, students, and other District staff

• Demonstrated proficiency in food preparation required; experience and competency in institutional food preparation preferred

• Formal training and/or demonstrated competency in food sanitation highly preferred

• Willingness to obtain appropriate training/certification in food service areas as may be required

• Willingness to adapt to specific or new working situations

Salary: District Support Services Wage Schedule -- 2023-2024 Base = $17.40/hour

Employment Term: Seven (7) hours per day on school days during school year, student days

Beginning Date: August 26, 2024
