Mount Aloysius College, recognized by ModernThink as a 2022 and 2023 "Great College to Work For," invites applications for an ambitious leader and experienced coach to join our NCAA Division III Athletics Program as the full-time Head Coach for Men's Volleyball.

Current Opening

This unique opportunity allows the Head Coach to continue building and further develop the Men's Volleyball program. The successful candidate will instruct student athletes, teach offensive and defensive strategy, and coach students to develop and improve their techniques and performance on the court.

Also guides physical conditioning of assigned student athletes, assesses players' skills, and assigns play positions. Consistent with our Mercy Values, the Head Coach promotes camaraderie among and between teammates, instills good sportsmanship and creates an inclusive team environment.

The Head Coach is also responsible for retention of student athletes; and is expected to meet or exceed annual recruiting goals for the Men's Volleyball team. Performs administrative duties related to team instruction and management thereof as necessary. Collaborates with other Coaching staff to support the Department of Athletics as assigned by the AD.

The Head Coach will embrace the College's Mercy heritage and values of Service, Justice, Hospitality and Mercy and will lead the Men's Volleyball team in at least one Community service project annually.

As a DIII Institution, Mount Aloysius emphasizes the importance of academics and expects coaching staff to monitor student athletes' academic progress. The Head Coach is responsible to comply with NCAA Division III and Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference regulations; and is subject to NCAA enforcement provisions for violations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in physical education, sports management, recreation, health, or related field preferred.

Minimum of three (3) years relevant coaching experience, or an equivalent combination of coaching and playing experience is required.

Demonstrated ability to instruct, motivate and lead student athletes and build team cohesion required. Ability to communicate and engage effectively with students, parents, and other constituent groups is a must.

An established network to advance the development of the Men's Volleyball program is highly desirable. Knowledge of NCAA Division III philosophy, rules and regulations pertaining to men's volleyball strongly preferred.

Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and some holidays. Regular in season travel and occasional overnight stays expected.

This is a full-time, benefit eligible position. This position is on campus in Cresson, PA and is not eligible for remote work. This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time; all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of their application.
