The Women's Head Soccer Coach reports to the Athletic Director.  The coach supervises the soccer program carried out under the auspices of the Office of Student Support Services.  The soccer season runs from August 1st through November 15th, 2024.  Team recruitment continues throughout the year.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Teach soccer skills to student-athletes

  • Develop and enforce training rules

  • Recruit within the rules and regulations of the conference

  • Transporting teams to various locations is required

  • Assist with schedule development

  • Assist with soccer uniforms and equipment management

  • Monitor academic achievements and student hall of student-athletes

  • Market and promote the soccer program, including fundraising

  • Prepare and process all related paperwork

  • Promote an environment supportive of the College's vision, mission, and values

  • Perform other duties assigned of a similar nature or level

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Two (2) years of successful instruction/coaching in high school/college soccer OR four (4) years of participation in college soccer

Licenses:

  • Valid unrestricted Washington State driver's license

  • Clean driving record (max of one moving violation in the last 12 mo, no suspension/revocation of license for reckless driving, hit &  run, leaving an accident scene, failure to appear, DUI, or other vehicle-related misdemeanor in the last 5 years)

  • Valid First Aid/CPR certification OR ability to obtain upon offer of employment

  • NWAC and Coaching Certification

Knowledge Of:

  • Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams

  • Applicable laws, rules, ordinances, and regulations, including, but not limited to FERPA, NWAC intercollegiate soccer rules and regulations, and Title IX

Skill In:

  • Fostering a climate of equity and belonging through multicultural awareness and responsiveness

  • Imparting excitement and enthusiasm into the coaching of student athletes

  • Effectively communicating (oral and written) with individuals in a multicultural environment at all levels inside and/or outside of the College

  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships at all organizational levels

  • Time management and multi-tasking; developing/managing departmental activities

  • Handling difficult and sensitive situations, using sound independent judgment within policy and legal guidelines; interpreting applicable laws/regulations/policies

  • Successfully navigating task completion with frequent interruptions

Physical Work Environment:

Work is usually performed in a variety of environments, including outdoors soccer fields, gymnasiums, and classrooms.  Ability to use standard office equipment and physically attend meetings both on and off campus, ability to communicate in person or through appropriate means. Ability to work weekends and evenings when appropriate or needed is required.

Terms Of Employment/Salary:

This is a part-time, temporary administrative/exempt seasonally contracted position with a set funding amount of $8,051 in place for August 1st through November 15th. Hiring of this position is contingent upon available funding as determined by the College President.
