General Summary:

The Head Clerk assists the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in motivating and inspiring the team to achieve store productivity goals. They help manage the payroll budget to ensure the store's contribution is on target. The Head Clerk also provides a strong leadership presence and control in the store, while ensuring that all customers receive good service and quality merchandise.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in responsibility for the store

  • Consistently creates a welcoming environment for the customer by greeting and assisting; as well as quickly responding to customer inquiries and needs

  • Demonstrates desired behaviors for staff including driving sales, handling difficult and/or complicated sales, cash management, inventory, and follow-up with customers

  • Performs all duties of an Associate while also functioning as a Head Clerk

  • Utilizes company tools to diagnose opportunities and develops action plans to improve performance

  • Forecasts/reforecast business, focusing on productivity to meet sales goals

  • Identifies opportunities to drive traffic into the store through community events (weddings, parties, etc.)

  • Regularly communicates with Store Manager to discuss strengths, opportunities, and trends in business

  • Assists Store Manager in partnering with Corporate Service Center personnel to increase sales, drive/promote merchandise categories, and expand markets

  • Helps Store Manager in identifying training needs and providing on-going training opportunities as needed

  • Provides direction, support, and ongoing feedback to staff

  • Leverages individual staff strengths

  • Assists in hiring to the needs of the business, actively recruiting to ensure open positions are filled quickly

  • Assists Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in delivering consistent, in the moment, feedback and coaching

  • Ensures company standards are met for store and associate appearance at all times

  • Prioritizes, plans, and adjusts schedules as necessary to maximize sales

  • Consistently reviews payroll, ensuring appropriate staff levels at all times

  • Plans, coordinates, and executes all Merchandise Calendar direction, campaigns, and sales promotions in a timely manner

  • Ensures all pricing, signage, and display information is correct at all times

  • Receives regular vendor deliveries and stock sales floor in a timely manner

  • Responsible for controlling inventory stock levels and reordering as necessary within budget

  • Enforces all company policies and procedures, including health, safety, and security

  • Manages and controls shrink

  • Performs all duties as directed by supervisors

This position will be responsible for overseeing domestic and international shipping of all cGMP materials, intermediates, finished products, maintenance parts and general supplies. This position must act independently and operate under limited supervision. Able to perform back-up duties for all other warehouse operations activities. Primary responsibilities for role: * Collaborate with Supply Chain, QA/QC and the inbound warehouse team in the release and shipment of Quarantined/Released materials. * Pick, pack and ship external Order-fulfillment via Reservations and Sales Documents in SAP from manufacturing and planning departments. Compare identifying information and counts of outbound shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders or other records. Determine method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates. Prepare all necessary documentation and communicate pre-shipment details * Responsible for the shipment of temperature controlled materials. * Adheres to all cGMP, OSHA, HSE and safety rules including daily safety inspection of fork-lifts, motorized vehicles and other electronic tools utilized in operations. * Audits freight invoices to ensure proper billing. Orders export related shipping supplies in a timely manner to prevent production delays or material shortages. Maintains general housekeeping and inventory management, including the timely disposal or recycling of excess material in accordance to cGMP requirements. * Conducts shipments per DOT, IATA, OSHA, ICS and SOP requirements and ensures accuracy of orders. Maintain cargo screening and warehouse security in accordance with Certified Cargo Screening facility certification. * Acts as a backup for all areas of the warehouse operations including shipping, receiving and customer interactions. * Supports department in process improvement initiatives such as to reduce or reuse supplies and warehouse materials as necessary. * Supports inbound and other activities as needed. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Must be in good standing with the DMV (valid driver license) * Experience with Grifols ERP systems, Microsoft office tools, and preferably SAP. * Must be able to work with Grifols approved outside vendors to schedule pickups and appropriate freight lanes to ensure product arrives within validated shipping time line. * Familiar with Inco Terms and international and regulatory requirements highly desired. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skill. * Working knowledge of OSHA and HSE safety. Education: High School Diploma with 10 years of warehouse experience or any college degree with 8+ years of warehouse experience. Experience: Minimum of 8+ shipping and warehouse experience, preferably in a cGMP environment. Equivalency: Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements. Example: If a job level requires an Associate's degree plus 2 years of experience, an equivalent could include 4 years of experience or a Bachelor's degree.
