General Summary:

The Head Clerk assists the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in motivating and inspiring the team to achieve store productivity goals. They help manage the payroll budget to ensure the store's contribution is on target. The Head Clerk also provides a strong leadership presence and control in the store, while ensuring that all customers receive good service and quality merchandise.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in responsibility for the store

  • Consistently creates a welcoming environment for the customer by greeting and assisting; as well as quickly responding to customer inquiries and needs

  • Demonstrates desired behaviors for staff including driving sales, handling difficult and/or complicated sales, cash management, inventory, and follow-up with customers

  • Performs all duties of an Associate while also functioning as a Head Clerk

  • Utilizes company tools to diagnose opportunities and develops action plans to improve performance

  • Forecasts/reforecast business, focusing on productivity to meet sales goals

  • Identifies opportunities to drive traffic into the store through community events (weddings, parties, etc.)

  • Regularly communicates with Store Manager to discuss strengths, opportunities, and trends in business

  • Assists Store Manager in partnering with Corporate Service Center personnel to increase sales, drive/promote merchandise categories, and expand markets

  • Helps Store Manager in identifying training needs and providing on-going training opportunities as needed

  • Provides direction, support, and ongoing feedback to staff

  • Leverages individual staff strengths

  • Assists in hiring to the needs of the business, actively recruiting to ensure open positions are filled quickly

  • Assists Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in delivering consistent, in the moment, feedback and coaching

  • Ensures company standards are met for store and associate appearance at all times

  • Prioritizes, plans, and adjusts schedules as necessary to maximize sales

  • Consistently reviews payroll, ensuring appropriate staff levels at all times

  • Plans, coordinates, and executes all Merchandise Calendar direction, campaigns, and sales promotions in a timely manner

  • Ensures all pricing, signage, and display information is correct at all times

  • Receives regular vendor deliveries and stock sales floor in a timely manner

  • Responsible for controlling inventory stock levels and reordering as necessary within budget

  • Enforces all company policies and procedures, including health, safety, and security

  • Manages and controls shrink

  • Performs all duties as directed by supervisors

This position is located in Pleasanton, California. Position Purpose Albertson's Data Group has an exciting new opportunity for a Head of Data Governance to lead the formation and execution of the company's enterprise wide Data Governance, framework and policies. You will be responsible for advancing all Data Governance related activities at Albertsons, including the roll out of the data quality management, master data management, metadata management, and related programs. You will also promote and instill the principle of managing data as a strategic enterprise asset in support of Albertson's mission to control and cure cancer. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Develop processes and procedures in support of the Albertsons Data Governance Program workstreams. * Build a Data Governance Office team and manage direct reports. * Represent Data Governance in related operational meetings * Prepare council meeting agendas/minutes, including program updates, proposed policies and guidelines, and topics captured from the data governance community that require partner concern. * Publish program operations, content, roadmaps, status, and issues. * Facilitate Data Domains, Data Quality, Master Data, Policy, and Analytics Competency workgroups. * Provide operational support and user training for the Data Governance technology and processes * Publish program goals, content, and progress to the Data Governance community and the enterprise through a variety of communication channels. * Collaborate with external organizations to mature the program. * Conduct recurring one-on-one meetings with Data Governance Council members and information owners * Coordinate and facilitate stewardship activities. * Monitor and measure the stewardship performance metrics. * Offer steward certifications and performance recognition. * Identify and participate in speaking, award, and publication opportunities * Use knowledge and expertise to identify improvements through reducing data redundancy and appropriate data reuse Qualifications: * A Bachelor's Degree, a Master's Degree preferred * 5+ years of retail experience * 2+ years of Data Governance experience * 5+ years of experience documenting processes and procedures * Capable of building strong relationships at every level of the organization * An effective communicator, capable of determining how best to reach different audiences and executing communication strategies based on that understanding * Able to work effectively in an environment that contains complex, sometimes contradictory information * Able to think conceptually and analytically with strong problem solving and decision-making skills * Consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances * Adept at planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals * Adept at building partnerships and working reciprocally with others to meet shared objectives and goals * Resilient in recovering from setbacks and skilled at finding detours around obstacles * Demonstrated process improvement, workflow, benchmarking and / or evaluation of business processes * Adept at learning quickly, applying insights from past efforts to new situations * Able to develop various documentation such as functional requirements, data quality rules, policy definitions * Able to compare technologies and make recommendations to senior members of the team. * Have a good understanding of information management practices * 25% travel How to Apply: Interested candidates are encouraged to submit a resume by visiting careersatsafeway.com Diversity is fundamental at Albertsons-Safeway.
