POSITION SUMMARY:

The Department of Otolaryngology at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine is seeking a qualified US BE/BC Otolaryngologist with subspecialty fellowship training in Head & Neck Oncology and Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery. The physician in this role will partner with two active head & neck microsurgeons as part of a growing clinical department.

The University of South Florida Department of Otolaryngology Head & Neck Surgery is a growing academic clinical department which includes 14 core faculty and separate divisions of speech pathology and audiology. We serve a large and diverse population across western and central Florida within our clinics and main clinical affiliate, Tampa General Hospital. Our service line here has been ranked a national top 50 ENT program from 2021 to 2023 by US News & World Report.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teaching Duties: Will instruct residents and medical students in both the in-patient and out-patient setting.

    Will lecture at resident conferences. Will participate in physical diagnosis, head & neck cancer screenings, and a variety of instructional labs.

  • Research Duties: Will have the opportunity to participate in research efforts within the department and multidisciplinary Head & Neck Team.

  • Administrative Duties: Will participate in practice related administrative duties as required.

  • Clinical Duties: The primary responsibility of this position is the treatment and care of patients in both the in-patient and out-patient setting at Tampa General Hospital and USF Health clinics.

    Will participate in department and trauma call schedule. Will see patients with and without residents and/or medical students.

  • Other Duties: Will participate in faculty committees, projects, etc.

    As directed by the chairperson. Where indicated, will provide other services to the University, Hospital(s), and Community at large and as directed.

  • Responsibility: Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher level administrator of a State university.

    Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities. Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department/unit on university and/or Statewide committees.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

MINIMUM:

Requires a Medical Degree and Board Eligibility/Board Certification in Otolaryngology. Eligible for a full unrestricted Florida Medical License is a must.

Fellowship trained in Head and Neck Oncology/Microvascular Reconstructive Surgery is required. Must have a medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor.

Candidates must be Board Certified/Board Eligible in Otolaryngology.
