We are currently seeking (2) 2nd Shift HAZMAT Facility Technicians to join our growing team!
NRC's Facility Technicians are responsible for a wide range of duties within our equipment yard. The Facility Technicians will primarily be responsible for the transfer and storage of materials that are brought in from customer sites and projects for later disposal by utilizing forklifts, manual lifting and other assisted lifting methods. You will be working with customers, internal departments and regulatory agencies to ensure proper waste storage and transfer policies are followed at all times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Utilize computer and manual based systems to print labels, and work with bills of lading, waste manifests, internal company paperwork etc.
Sample, analyze, handle and/or transfer hazardous waste adhering to NRC's quality assurance programs
Maintain equipment used for the sampling analysis, handling, treatment and/or transfer of waste
Safe transfer of hazardous waste from the vehicle to a designated staging area utilizing powered industrial trucks and other lifting equipment
Frequently lift and move customer waste product around facility often up to 50lbs unassisted
Operate, maintain, and store (power and hand) equipment in a safe manner
All other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
High School or GED (or equivalent reading, writing and reasoning skills)
0-2 years' experience performing related work (firefighting, emergency response, general construction, industrial cleaning)
State specific HAZWOPER certification desired but not required
Power Industrial Truck Certification desired but not required
Must be able to use hand tools, power tools and don a respirator
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., stoop, crawl, bend, push, pull and walk on uneven terrain or slippery conditions
Must be able to travel and work extended hours including evenings and weekends, working in often undesirable conditions, in inclement weather while be exposed to dust, fumes, dirt, heat, cold, noise, vibrations
Valid Driver's License with an MVR that meets company policy standards. Hazmat endorsement a plus
Basic computer skills (ability to use basic web programs, Microsoft Office Suite Web Browsers, etc)
Successful completion of a pre-employment background and substance screening process including, but not limited to, employment verification, criminal search and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) search as well continued verification throughout employment to ensure that all records meet company policy standards.
