The Opportunity

The InSite Technician is responsible for the performance of tasks associated with handling of hazardous materials on a customer site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;

  • Making chemical pickups throughout customer facility as directed;

  • Conducting chemical bulking/consolidation as required;

  • Packaging of waste to maximize efficiency and maintain compliance;

  • Ensuring work area maintained in a neat and orderly manner;

  • Participating spill response on customer's site as needed.

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • 1+ years of related work experience;

  • 40 Hour OSHA, DOT preferred;

  • Attention to detail, able to take and follow direction, and to perform multiple tasks;

  • Ability to interface with customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES: * Safe off-loading of household hazardous waste from vehicles at Household Hazardous Waste collection jobs. * Set up and disassembling of HHW events, which includes setting up and arranging tables, signs, drums and equipment. * Load trucks at end of collection event. * Communicate with customers in a courteous and professional manner. EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE: * High School diploma or equivalent required. * 1+ years of related work experience. * Must be 18 years or older. * Hazardous Communication training. * Reliable. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Requires near vision acuity, speaking and listening. * Requires sitting, standing, walking, grasping and reaching. * Requires lifting up to 10lbs, pulling and/or pushing and carrying. * Ability to lift < 50 lbs. without a partner. Employment is contingent upon a successful background check and drug screen. Some positions also require a pre-hire medical exam. Must meet all work eligibility requirements.
