SHIFT SCHEDULE:
Monday - Tuesday: 10 PM - 6 AM,
Off Wednesday and Thursday
Friday and Saturday: 3 PM - 3 AM
PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Hatchery Night Shift Attendant monitors equipment used to refrigerate, incubate, and hatch chicks overnight while supervision is not on-site.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Monitor hatchers and setters to ensure proper functionality; report issues to maintenance in a timely fashion
Monitor Hatchery environment to ensure proper functionality of Air Conditioning, Heat, and Humidity levels
Administer formaldehyde in prescribed manner
Comply with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state, and federal laws and regulations
Identify opportunities for improvement, present to appropriate leader, and implement, lead or participate in solution implementation
Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in all areas where mandatory helping to promote a zero-accident culture
Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned by Hatchery Manager and/or Supervisor
EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Preferred one (1) year applicable experience in a similar environment
Strong computer literacy (Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook)
Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization in a timely and professional manner; multi-lingual strongly preferred
Ability to handle and resolve most issues in an efficient and effective manner while ensuring confidential information is relayed only on a need-to-know basis
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects, planning skills, and a high attention to detail
Must possess a strong customer-centric attitude, high energy level and a strong sense of urgency
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
Follow departmental and company safety policies and programs
Wear required protective equipment in all areas where mandatory
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to work overnight shift, with little to no supervision
Ability to work extended shifts (holiday, weekend and/or extended) as business need requires
Ability to work in cold/ humid or hot/ dusty environments as needed
Ability to work in extreme heat (100 degrees or greater)
Ability to stand up to 8 hours
Ability to frequently reach, bend, stoop, kneel and crawl
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds
