The Hatch Public Library is a modern 15,000 square-foot facility located in downtown Mauston in south-central Wisconsin. Our mission is "to provide materials and services to help area residents obtain information to meet their personal, educational, professional, and recreational needs." The library is situated next to Riverside Park, home to regular live music and community events, and adjacent to restaurants, shops, an arts non-profit, and walking trails.

Large windows take advantage of our scenic location overlooking the Lemonweir River. Mauston is a quiet, rural community located midway between the Madison and LaCrosse metropolitan areas, and near nationally recognized parks including the Necedah National Wildlife Refuge and Devil's Lake State Park. Area housing is affordable and abundant.

The Outreach Coordinator will have the exciting opportunity to craft and promote basic and technical literacy programs for adults and children in Juneau County. This will include building relationships with community partners, writing grant applications, establishing a sustainable volunteer program, and marketing adult literacy and STEM programs to potential adult learners, youth, and volunteers. The Community Outreach Coordinator will also develop the library's collection of STEM/STEAM and literacy materials.

The Community Outreach Coordinator will work alongside the Program Manager in their work. You will need to have leadership skills, including the ability to inspire others. You should be a self-starter with a positive attitude, have an interest in libraries, the ability to work independently AND collaboratively, and possess a passion for lifelong learning.

The Outreach Coordinator will work in a beautiful library setting with fun and supportive colleagues and an appreciative community. You will be supported in your work and learning through mentoring and an opportunity to attend at least one professional development event per year of service.
