Northrop Grumman Mission Systems Sector is seeking a hardware Quality Manager 2 to lead our Quality Team located at Rancho Carmel, San Diego CA.

The hardware Quality Manager provides the required independent quality oversight for the respective system designs, product builds, testing, integration and support required for the F-35 and Communications Business Units. As a key member of AC 4ISR CNI products team, the Manager will lead a high performing Quality team and will be responsible for executing, monitoring and reporting on the health and quality of products and services. The qualified candidate will have demonstrated success leading teams achieving a high level of employee engagement. The position requires a solutionbased orientation, unwavering ethics and values, and the demonstrated ability to be a trusted partner. Candidates must demonstrate a proven track record of solving complex problems through systematic and objective evaluation of information resulting in effective communication, championing, and implementation of change with a diverse set of internal and external customers and suppliers.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Establishes strong business relationships with Client leadership teams, and creates effective partnership across all the client leadership teams, Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain Organizations.

  • Sets the strategy to meet customer's expectations, regularly communicates program status. Provides situational awareness and effective communication both internally and externally.

  • Assures compliance in quality, risk management, safety, process improvement in accordance with contractual requirements and drives forward early predictive indicators of risk.

  • Leverages comprehensive metrics, customer and employee feedback to assess program performance and risks, and determines resources to ensure mission success.

MAQEA

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with 10 years of progressive, relevant experience.

  • 5 years of experience managing or leading teams.

  • 3 years working in quality, supply chain, program management, engineering, business, or manufacturing.

  • Must have a current active DOD Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain a Special Program Access clearance

  • Experience conduction root cause and corrective actions on identified quality problems, issues, and defects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in STEM or Business.

  • 10 years of experience acting is a leadership role

  • 5 years working in quality, supply chain, program management, engineering, business, or manufacturing.

  • Knowledge of industry specifications, quality standards, and regulations, e.g. AS9100, ISO9001, AS5553, AS6174, and AS9120.

  • SAP & Solumina experience a Plus

VIEW JOBS 11/16/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-14T00:00 Position Summary: In this cross functional quality role you will actively participate in product development and transfer activities, as well as product field and internal quality initiatives, ensuring product and process conformance to FDA and ISO 13485 standards. This role will serve as a resource to product development and manufacturing to improve product quality, reliability, and process capability. This position will be involved in product quality investigations and responsible for identifying and championing sustainable supplier quality improvements. You will facilitate teams in identifying, documenting, assessing, correcting and preventing quality issues using risk analysis and root cause analysis tools. You will be responsible for quality planning and establishing and maintaining metrics to improve quality system processes, process capability, reliability and quality of products. This role requires exceptionally strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, and a solid understanding of the application of FDA and ISO 13485 standards. Responsibilities: * Provide quality leadership to new product development teams in the areas of design control, design verification and validation, design transfer, process validation, risk management, and specification development. * Provide ongoing quality engineering support throughout the product life cycle. Provide support to development, engineering and manufacturing functions for validation planning and transfer activities. Assist teams in determining validation needs and requirements. * Ensures adequacy of complaint, non-conformances and CAPA records, investigations, and corrective actions. * Participates in supplier audits to drive process standardization and continuous improvement * Drive product risk management activities and ensure quality and completeness of project design history files, validation packages, and change orders * Provide consultation to end users and process owners with regard to data collection, analysis and creation of validation reports. * Become familiar with the applicable technology to facilitate participation in technical discussions and risk-based decision making * Review verification and validation reports and identify gaps for GMP compliance. Develop and execute strategies to close gaps in an efficient, technical, and compliant manner * Coordinate issue resolution using a risk-based approach * Identify areas and opportunities to improve quality system processes * Ensure product development and validation programs meet requirements of FDA and ISO when applicable * Trend, analyze, and report on quality data in order to improve product and process; develop recommendations based on data analysis * Provide management with status updates on assigned responsibilities and goals and escalate issues in a timely fashion * Take initiative to identify and drive improvements to the Illumina quality system.
