Rockwell Automation is looking for someone to advance their career as a Manager of Electrical (Hardware) Engineers. You will sustain existing products for our growing safety, visualization, and highly available product lines, a key part of our portfolio.

You will have the ability to make major impacts on the health and success of a large portfolio of products, collaborating with leadership across Engineering, Product Management, Business, Project Management, and Quality. In this role you will manage the critical delivery of objectives and keep product shipping and aligned to the global standards our customers expect. The environment fosters a collaborative and innovative approach to work with teams across the globe.

It is dynamic, fast-paced, and requires a highly motivated individual with a passion for teams and products. In this role you will be expected to be a leader, mentor, and coach your to your team to maintain high performance levels. You'll work with internal and external product groups, external design partners, and third-party partners to accomplish this mission. With success in this role, you will have the opportunity to grow and develop with increased scope and responsibility.

You will:

  • Manage a team of 10+ people of Hardware Engineers in a servant leadership manner to provide coordination and guidance for your team in the areas of sustaining engineering, productivity, quality and compliance, design integrity, implementation, test, and mitigation of quality issues.

  • Take leadership for an organizational initiatives and work across peer managers across the world to move initiatives forward. This could be in areas like talent management, continuous integration/ delivery, or process change, among others.

    You will also be responsible for project sponsorship as well. This too would likely be a global development.

  • Ensure product development activities comply with corporate and business level processes and procedures. Be responsible for helping the team think and create a continuous improvement mindset against those processes and procedures. Help the team remove barriers to execution.

  • Develop the team and assist them with goal setting and achievement by providing for their continued development, motivation, and performance management. Work with individuals to help them reach their full potential.

  • Encourage a positive and inclusive work environment to foster outstanding performance. Work with leadership to understand and then implement the vision of a performance driven and collaborative workplace.

  • Help your team eliminate non-value add work by leading improvement activities in design capabilities and processes so your team is best in class in sustaining engineering.

  • Be relentless in our pursuit of creating quality designs and high quality software delivered and tested right the first time.

WORK YOU'LL DO As an Application Performance Engineer Associate Manager, some of your key responsibilities may include: * Defining the strategy for enabling performance diagnostics and monitoring through the use of an Application Performance Management (APM) tool, other monitoring tools, and diagnostic techniques. * Identifying, evaluating, and recommending monitoring tools and diagnostic techniques relevant to the application architecture. Assess gaps in as-is monitoring tool capabilities and recommend tools to augment or replace. * Learning an application's design to assess for performance risks and identify areas to apply past learnings * Instrumenting applications to enable performance diagnostics and monitoring * Collaborating with Performance Engineering leads and project team to review and refine application NFRs, SLAs, & KPIs to create acceptance criteria and performance budgets necessary to measure, validate, and improve performance * Collaborating with developers to promote the concept of performance engineering during all phases of the SDLC to detect and correct performance issues earlier in the lifecycle * Monitoring application performance during performance tests or production usage through the use of APM and other monitoring tools to isolate the fault domain, dive deep into application code, and identify root cause of performance issues. * Utilizing static code and dynamic code analysis to identify performance and maintenance concerns * Profiling application performance from end-user perspective to inventory performance concerns and suggest tuning opportunities across the application stack * Performing deep dive JVM analysis examining garbage collection logs, heap dumps, and thread dumps as needed. * Documenting performance findings and recommendations * Interacting with client and/or Accenture development, operations, and infrastructure resources to recommend solutions to remediate performance issues * Participating in re-architecture, redesign, and refactoring decisions to satisfy performance requirements * Developing dashboards and reports to provide ongoing visibility into the performance of client applications * Contributing learnings and experiences to the Accenture Performance Engineering community Accenture Milwaukee WI
