What you'll do Design, documentation, implementation, prototyping, and testing of next generation encryption devices on cutting edge ultra-low power digital circuit boards for NSA certified key loader The day-to-day •Hands on experience designing complex digital systems (Processors, memory, FPGAs, CPLD, microcontrollers, networking interfaces) •Experience working with DC to DC converters for the variety of internal derived voltages needed in modern microelectronics •Schematic creation (Mentor Graphics flow preferred) •Review of CAD PWB designs •Develop timing constraints, analyze timing results, and implement design changes required to close timing and translate those constraints into CAD timing constraints •Collaborate with large geographically diverse multi-disciplinary teams to create next generation products •Generate and collaborate on required design documents, development requirements, specifications and verification protocols •Support Qualification of new design through series of functional, performance and environmental test What you'll need • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering • 10+ years hardware design or sustaining experience • Foundational knowledge of analog and digital logic and timing considerations •Must be able to prioritize, be detail oriented, and have history of managing time well to accomplish multiple tasks in parallel • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work with a temporally and geographically diverse team • Ability to document and report on technical solutions/findings • Good working knowledge of MS Office products for documentation creation and modification • Familiarity with standard test equipment (i.e., oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzer, power supplies, etc.) • Familiarity with production related processes and common failure modes • High aptitude for learning new things • Desire to be part of a multidisciplinary team to evaluate and troubleshoot production related issues • Ability to work independently, take initiative, take ownership of tasks and results • US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance is required • Ability to travel up to 10% What will help you on the job • Knowledge of encryption and information assurance technologies • Knowledge of network communication concepts • Experience with board design and layout, which include concepts for HS Layout • Trade study and analysis • Knowledge of Make or buy analysis • General understanding of market needs and customer use cases • Active Secret clearance Salary range $132,200.00 - $230,000.00 / annually At Viasat, we consider many factors when it comes to compensation, including the scope of the position as well as your background and experience. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
