SummaryAs an Embedded Hardware Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical experience to a multi-disciplinary team, including firmware, hardware, software, and mobile developers. The ability to be responsive, flexible, and communicate clearly, both technical and non-technical, will be critical to your success in this role.
You will participate in the design, integration, and improvement of the firmware stacks for the computational board embedded in our devices. This will include component selection, schematic design, PCB layout, and board bring-up activities.


Use technical knowledge to influence decisions over multiple teams and products
Work as an adviser to the product leadership team
Participate in high-level reviews of architecture and product designs
Demonstrate a high level of design creativity and positive impact
Work to set engineering excellence and establish company best-practices efforts within the department
Work to explore external technology offerings
Work with external vendors regarding current and future technology needs
Work cross functionally with various groups (HW, SW, Product, ME) to develop and validate potential new product and service offerings


Passion for providing a great customer experience in all our products through the quality and usability of released hardware
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or equivalent required
5+ years of hardware development experience including full life cycle and design-to delivery experience
Hands-on experience in rapid prototyping of hardware, including utilizing dev kits, 3D printing, and embedded software
Full product life-cycle experience, including brainstorming, product prototyping, and realization, design for very-low-cost manufacturing, high-volume manufacturing, and field support
Experience with PCB design and layout, including ORCAD design package
Experience with regulatory compliance for hardware including FCC, UL, IEEE-1725, and CEC
Experience with embedded system design including processor selection, communication protocols (USB, SPI, I2C, etc.), extremely low power design, sensor integration, and multi-radio integration
Experience with RF technology and RF design, especially for Bluetooth and Wi-Fi
Experience with basic mechanical design including CAD design tools such as SolidWorks and 3D modeling of electronic designs

VIEW JOBS 12/6/2022 12:00:00 AM 2023-03-06T00:00 <p>Job Description</p><p>Under the direction of the Branch Manager or Field Leader, the Mobile Examiner's primary responsibility is to provide coverage in the field ensuring that mobile exams are completed accurately and on time. Maintain a safe and professional environment for applicants, clients, and employees, perform with confidence all aspects of an insurance exam, including specimen collection and processing duties following established practices and procedures. May also be required to act as coach, mentor, instructor and resource person for new employees who have completed the required phlebotomy training program.</p><ul><li><p>Ensures all specimens are collected accurately and on time.</p></li><li><p>Collects specimens according to established procedures.</p></li><li><p>Conducts in center exams and mobile exams, which include taking basic vitals, medical histories, venipuncture, urine collection, and EKG. Also collects specimens for pre- employment drug screenings and other Quest Diagnostics services.</p></li><li><p>Responsible for completing application packets and other paperwork accurately.</p></li><li><p>Label, centrifuge and split specimens as required by test order.</p></li><li><p>Upload and complete cases in portal within 24 hrs on weekdays and within 48 hrs on weekends.</p></li><li><p>Package specimens for transport and ship to lab indicated on work orders.</p></li><li><p>Responsible for the safe and timely transporting of specimens, supplies, equipment and materials to the appropriate destination.</p></li><li><p>Maintains records of each specimen collected each day. Support Record Deletion process when directed by Management.</p></li><li><p>Submits original paperwork to destination.</p></li><li><p>Provides customer service to clients.</p></li><li><p>Follows current Examiner's Manual.</p></li><li><p>Reads, understands and complies with departmental policies, protocols and procedures: (i.e. Procedure Manuals, Safety Manual, Compliance Manual, Automobile policies and procedures, Employee Handbook, Quality Assurance Manual).</p></li><li><p>Maintains all appropriate Phlebotomy logs.</p></li><li><p>Maintains error rate of no more than 3%.</p></li><li><p>Confirms exams with clients day before appointment and status the case at time of confirmation.</p></li><li><p>Correct non-applicant errors within a 24 hour timeframe.</p></li><li><p>Submits accurate time and travel logs as directed by management and on time.</p></li><li><p>Submits accurate expense forms, if applicable, on the required day.</p></li><li><p>Properly clock in and out for work assignments.</p></li><li><p>Provides travel logs when applicable.</p></li><li><p>Demonstrates organizational commitment.</p></li><li><p>Adheres to departmental and company code of grooming and dress code and lab coat policies, appearing neat and clean at all times. Be aware of smoke residue and heavy fragrances.</p></li><li><p>Wear company issued identification badge at all times during work assignments.</p></li><li><p>Reports on time to work, following attendance guidelines.</p></li><li><p>Answers the telephone in a friendly and helpful manner, by incorporating the company name, self-identification and a helpful statement.</p></li><li><p>Communicates appropriately with customers, agents, applicants, coworkers and the general public.</p></li><li><p>Communicates all unresolved problems immediately to the appropriate Manager or Supervisor.</p></li><li><p>Remains polite and courteous at all times.</p></li><li><p>Additional responsibilities required of Mobile Examiner.</p></li><li><p>Ensures facilities or work areas are neat, clean and in good repair, takes appropriate action to advise Manager or Supervisor of required repairs and maintenance; Disposes of biohazard containers when scheduled.</p></li><li><p>Assist with periodic inventory counts, report shortages and problems to Manager or Supervisor as they occur; stocks supplies as needed.</p></li><li><p>Provide supply orders as specified by Branch Manager.</p></li><li><p>Work effectively with staff employees to ensure compliance with dress code, EHS &amp; QA requirements, customer service requirements and SOP's, advising Manager or Supervisor of any issues or problems as they arise.</p></li><li><p>Performs other department-related clerical duties when assigned.</p></li><li><p>Answers phone and dispatch calls when assigned.</p></li><li><p>Participates on teams and special projects when asked.</p></li><li><p>Assist Manager or Supervisor with the implementation of SOPs for examiner services in accordance with Quest Diagnostics guidelines.</p></li><li><p>With direction and guidance from Manager or Supervisor, and having appropriate training guidelines, act as mentor and resource person for new employees providing support for department protocols, practices and procedures.</p></li><li><p>Assist with distribution of technical information and communications to the work group.</p></li><li><p>Flexible travel (up to 25 mile radius) and flexible work hours. Maintain dates of availability and dates unavailable in Examview.</p></li><li><p>All other duties as assigned, within scope of the position.</p></li><li><p>Required use of company i-pad or specified electronic device.</p></li></ul><p>QUALIFICATIONS</p><p>Required Work Experience:</p><ul><li><p>Minimum 100 documented successful blood draws required.</p></li><li><p>Minimum one-year phlebotomy experience. Experience with pediatric and geriatric patients is a plus.</p></li></ul><p>Preferred Work Experience:</p><p>Prefer urine or hair follicle collection and EKG experience.</p><p>Physical and Mental Requirements:</p><ul><li><p>Sitting for periods of time</p></li><li><p>Standing while performing work</p></li><li><p>Driving to and from work assignments</p></li><li><p>Lifting no more than 40 pounds.</p></li><li><p>Ability to multitask</p></li><li><p>Must be flexible and available based on staffing requirements; weekends, holidays and overtime.
