Honeywell is hiring a Electrical/Aerospace Engineering Graduate for our Phoenix, AZ Deer Valley facility. This Engineering role is in support of Phoenix Deer Valley Design and will directly support the business. Products supported include systems components for Flight Control and Fly-by-Wire hardware, as well as other products. The Flight Management and Controls Systems organization is a high volume, high mix product line that requires an adaptive, creative engineer to drive unique solutions and drive standardization.

Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:

  • Create design change requests to improve design, implement parts substitutions and to solve production issues

  • Identify and drive productivity improvement projects across assigned product lines

  • Ownership of all technical aspects of assigned product lines, such as performance, reliability, quality, process turn time, first pass yield, cost productivity and customer satisfaction

  • Primary technical liaison between the Design Center and other outside departments, including the Engine design center, Cabin

Pressure design center, Customer Support and Program Management.

  • Resolve problems by networking within the greater organization ranging from technicians and supply chain to project Engineers and management.

  • Ability to utilize applicable business systems to support the business

  • Ability to lead and champion HOS initiative within the extended site Engineering group.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder due to ITAR restrictions

  • Pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Able to read and interpret Schematics and part prints

  • Exceptional technical skills.

  • Computer literate with Microsoft Office Products.

  • Knowledge of gas turbine principles.

  • Ability to utilize Six Sigma tools and apply them to large quantities of data.

  • Understanding of Aerospace Materials, properties, and processes.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Highly motivated, self directed, and a can do attitude.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to work in and lead teams.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

This engineer will be a requirements driven person who generates requirements for all the board designs within project and can provide evidence that the requirements have been met throughout the development process. Management of a few engineers in the areas of schematic design will be one of the major responsibilities if this role along with being an individual contributor. You are responsible for: * Research and select components for use in new products * Technical direction of a team of engineers and outside vendors * Lead technical engineer interacting with the customer. * VPX background * Communicate with component vendors and representatives to select new components * Work with engineering team members to create and review architectures for advanced solid state drives * Design and implement small switching power supply circuitry for use in solid state drives * Space based design experience * EMI and reliability experience. * Implement requirements in Jama and track there completion in Jama * Perform critical timing and worst case power consumption analysis for new designs * Review schematics and suggest alternate design concepts * Participate in team discussions and design reviews for this product * Prepare and review design documentation and diagrams * Review critical signal lists and impedance specifications for PCB layout engineers * Participate in schematic and PCB layout design reviews * Participate in the design validation and qualification of new products * Work with customers, as needed, to resolve problems To succeed in this role: * Bachelor's Degree * 10 years experience * Ability to apply work experience and electronic theory to create unique new designs * Expert debug skills. * Expert team skills Mercury Systems Phoenix AZ
