This role is a hybrid position working out of our Malvern, PA site.

About the Role:

The Hardware Engineer will provide dedicated hardware engineering expertise for the Supply Engineering team as well as the overall hardware discipline within CPI. Supply Engineering implements engineering changes to resolve supply chain delays, resolve obsolescence notifications, implement productivity projects, and improve product quality. The primary objectives for the position will be conceptual research, hardware design, validation design, and implementation of engineering changes.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Independent leadership of assigned projects to resolve obsolescence issues, productivity projects, and quality improvement projects

  • Communicate with key stakeholders and define project requirements, constraints, and acceptance criteria

  • Research hardware and opto-electronics solutions for complex engineering problems

  • Hands-on prototyping and circuit analysis in an electronics lab environment

  • Create and execute electrical circuit simulations to validate design intent (SPICE)

  • Create detailed PCBA designs using automated electronics design software

  • Design and execute product qualification plans

  • Thoroughly document qualification test results in detailed technical test reports

  • Lead and participate in hardware design reviews

  • Generate engineering change notices for implementation of designs into production

  • Assist manufacturing facility with root cause analysis and quality improvement projects

  • Communicate and collaborate with engineers in different departments and global offices

  • Communicate and collaborate with suppliers to ensure quality and develop new custom electronic components

  • Communicate and collaborate with contract manufacturers to ensure PCBA quality and delivery

Qualifications and Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

  • 2 - 7 years of experience in Hardware Engineer field

  • English language proficient

  • Experience with automated electronic design software (Mentor Graphics a plus)

This role is a hybrid position working out of our Malvern, PA site.</p><p>The Sr Embedded Hardware Engineer will primarily be responsible for development and implementation of embedded hardware platforms to enable rapid product development. The role requires a thoughtful approach to develop applications for new and existing Linux based embedded systems, as well as, solving problems stemming from customer, field support, sales and production related issues.
