CACI seeks a talented Hardware Engineer to join our Advanced Solutions Group, within the National Security and Innovative Solutions Sector.

What You'll Get to Do:

Support the hardware sustainment processes of the NOPS LANCE system supporting satellite on-orbit and launch activities and NOPS administrative systems. Perform installation, removal, and maintenance on hardware system components and infrastructure. Collaborate with engineering staff, operators, customer, and vendors on regular basis to support the systems engineering process in defining hardware requirements, deploying hardware solutions, performing routine maintenance, and monitoring system hardware performance. Maintain hardware documentation and drawing for configuration and baseline control. Additional general areas of responsibility include:

  • Manage hardware projects and baselines

  • Plan and design rack configuration layouts considering cabling, power, and cooling needs

  • Review and provide analysis of hardware requirements to help determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints

  • Provide input on user training

  • Rotating on-call support for off-hour hardware anomaly support (90-minute response time)

  • Leader supporting Office of Space Launch NOPS mission, operations personnel, and infrastructure.

  • Maintain awareness of system requirements and any complaints to identify areas of concern or improvement

  • Contribute to a culture of collaboration, learning, and transparency

  • Works with the enterprise to solve mission challenges with processes and technology including hardware, software, databases, operating systems, and networks.

  • Maintains systems operations, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance

  • Provide technical direction for on orbit mission support, plan for critical vehicle malfunctions and recommend alternate operating techniques to continue maximum mission support.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph, will consider without a poly if willing to take one

  • 3 years hardware engineering experience

  • Familiarity with satellite command and control systems

  • Be a team player and work in a genuinely collaborative team environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated understanding of launch vehicle and satellite launch ascent, test, and on-orbit operational processes, practices, and procedures

  • Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with other Government agencies and mission partners

  • Desire to work in a fast paced, mission-focused environment

  • Highly responsible, team-oriented individual with a strong work ethic

  • Effective organizational skills with strong attention to detail

These Qualifications Would Be Nice To have:

  • NRO experience

  • Experience with terminating both CAT and fiber cables

  • 5 years launch or systems engineering experience

  • Thorough knowledge of Government launch policy and procedures

  • Experience with agile management tools

Pay Range: The proposed salary range for this position is $65,300-$134,000. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications. The successful candidate will be required to execute, refine, and supervise the processes and procedures of Voice System Engineering operations in a purpose-built enterprise environment throughout the operational lifecycle of customer directed mission applications. The VS/HW Engineer will work in a highly collaborative environment with teammates, key stakeholders and the Government customer to ensure mission continuity and support to the IC community. Qualified applicants must be able to perform efficiently under dynamic conditions and skillfully navigate continually evolving priorities, facilitating reliable and consistent mission application systems engineering in a complex computing environment. Applicants will exercise comprehensive technical Systems Engineering knowledge in order to meet or exceed prescribed Performance Requirements Standards (PRS). Through the application of deep technical and critical thinking skills, expert knowledge, and highly innovative approaches to resolving complex problems, the ideal candidate will be integral to ensuring the uninterrupted performance and stability of mission processors and their associated Voice Systems Engineering support. Primary Roles & Responsibilities: * Provide system level engineering support mission critical IT systems, related telecommunications trunk circuits, voicemail and telephone instrument units. * Ensures the availability of mission critical launch communications systems through proactive Tier 2 hardware maintenance * Updates or creates knowledge articles to allow Tier 1 to resolve without escalation to Tier 2 * Performs daily system checks for alerts or degradation of service or system * Provide systems engineering support to enterprise voice over IP (VoIP) phone systems including Cisco VoIP phone units, voicemail and Call Manager System. * Provide consistent execution of Voice availability and reliability through the direction of proactive engineering methodologies and request fulfillment activities * Develop and implement technical solutions through deep analysis and understanding of impact to the end-product/solution * Ensures the availability of mission critical launch communications systems through proactive voice systems IT systems engineering * Performs incident and problem management to resolve or escalate issues in order to restore service * Supports configuration management and change management activities Basic Qualifications: To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below * U.S. Citizen with an active TS/SCI with Polygraph * Requires BS and 2 - 4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience * Current DoD 8570 certification applicable to the position (typically Security+) * Must understand complex, classified, mission specific communications infrastructure and technology that specifically supports US strategic launch capabilities * Requires Launch or mission operations experience * Experience performing voice systems engineering on mission critical systems * Understand mission critical desktop and communications hardware and software * Experience supporting configuration management, change management and service transition * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Proven ability to work collaboratively and constructively as part of a team * Must be willing to perform call-in support as required Preferred Qualifications: Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration * Strong Analytical skills * SharePoint, ServiceNow * ITIL Foundations certification Pay Range: Pay Range $60,450.00 - $93,000.00 - $125,550.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
