We are seeking a Hardware Development Engineer based in Lake Forest, CA who is initiative-taking, creative, and innovative and has a strong passion for formal hardware development. The candidate will be work as part of a team responsible for new HW design, HW development, and sustaining of our Triconex by Schneider Electric Functional Safety products, cross-platform development environment.

Supports manufacturing to ensure all Hardware products meet testability and manufacturability requirements as well as support initial pilot run and ramp phase by creating test requirement specifications, test procedures, and assist test engineers in developing a production test solution. What will you do? Create and define hardware architecture of functional safety products via FMEA/DA, deratings, FIT assessment, and additional techniques and measures to address hardware failures.

Performing work in all phase's hardware product development life-cycle - requirements, simulation, architecture, design, implementation, and verification Having broad expertise or unique knowledge, uses skills to contribute to the development of company objectives and principles and to achieve goals in creative and effective ways Providing support to HW development work performed by outsource partners Producing innovative ideas to improve HW products and the HW development process Working in a diverse team environment, as well as independently This includes creating system requirements, hardware requirements and design specifications, schematic design, simulations, PCB layout, component analysis/selection, and prototyping first articles for engineering evaluation, Verification and validation, qualification, and release to manufacturing. What qualifications will make you successful for this role? B.S. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.

Open to Master's degree as well Up to 7 years of HW design experience in the following areas: industrial controls, aerospace, communications, or medical devices, etc. Solid exposure in the design of embedded analog/digital modules, sub-systems, and systems using embedded microprocessors (ARM, PowerPC, etc.) and FPGA's. Exposure of PCB design, signal integrity analysis, and layout rules/guidelines.

Capable diagnostic, debugging, and troubleshooting skills, using standard lab/bench equipment. Exposure in product development with knowledge of Design for Test, Design for Manufacturability, environmental, EMI/EMC, and qualification testing for new products. Some exposure to standards 61508, 61131-2, 61326-3, 60079-7, 61010-1, C22.2 Exposure in formal HW development process where significant and unique issues where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangibles.

Capable of working with offshoring partners, outsource partners, or other third-party partners. Knowledge of Allegro or similar tool, is preferred. Let us learn about you!

The U.S. compensation range for this full-time position, which includes base pay and short-term incentive, is $85,000 -110,000 for candidates located within the U.S. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level.

Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
