Description:

As a Hardware Design Engineer at Fluke Networks, you will join a cross functional product development team and play a key role in designing and developing state of the art electronic test equipment.

Responsibilities

Design reliable, cost effective, and easily manufactured electronic products or susbsystems in accordance with design criteria and performance objectives.

Conduct functional and environmental tests of new designs or modified existing designs to evaluate circuit performance; including defect root-cause analysis and recommendations for remedial action.

May conduct research leading to the establishment of feasibility for new products, product features, capabilities, or advanced test and measurement science.

Prepare proposals, personnel and cost estimates, and work schedules to meet completion dates and technical specifications.

Prepare documentation such as schematic diagrams, test procedures, theory of operation, and assist in creation of bills of material, instruction manuals, and related information.

Coordinate work activities with other engineers and technicians; may direct or mentor other engineers during course of assignment, and participate in peer led design reviews.

Maintain relevant knowledge regarding new developments and trends in applicable engineering field(s).

May be assigned project lead responsibility for specific design assignments.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

Minimum 7 years of experience in circuit design engineering (minimum 5 years of primary design responsibility). Masters degree may be accepted in lieu of some experience.

Knowledge and application of electrical engineering principles, practices and techniques commonly employed in the design and development of electronic products

High motivation, enthusiasm, and eagerness to learn.

Specific emphasis on high frequency analog circuit design ( 10 GHz), stripline techniques and impedance control, phase-lock loop, mixers, and synthesizer implementations.

Specific emphasis on FPGA design and use of HDL/VHDL coding tools.

Ability to generate high quality technical documentation and generate sound conclusions regarding specific technical investigations.

Requires a high degree of creativity, engineering skill and independent judgment.

Working knowledge of software design and ability to code with at least one of the following programming languages; C, C , Python, Matlab.

Ability to operate all relevant laboratory test equipment, with special emphasis on vector network analysis.

Basic understanding of physical-layer networking hardware
