The Applied Architecture team at Xilinx is looking for a design engineer to architect and implement domain-specific hardware accelerators. Application domains include machine learning, digital signal processing, and networking.
Through applications that we publish in conferences, we demonstrate hardware and software design best practices to use Xilinx products effectively. What distinguishes our work from a typical design team is that we apply lessons learned from our projects to architect next-generation products.
We are looking for people who are curious, imaginative, analytical, and persistent. We enjoy working with people who can state problems and propose solutions analytically in a collaborative environment.
Although this position is nominally a hardware position because our work does require hardware design skills, we are particularly interested in people who enjoy creating hardware that is intuitive to program.

Communicating technical ideas clearly in person and in writing
Ability to simplify hardware and software design for ease of use

Micro-architecture and logic design
Translating algorithms to parallel hardware
Programming in hardware description languages such as Verilog and VHDL
