POSITION SUMMARY: Operate the 70&90 hammer mill, separator, fertilizer plant and stone plant systems. Operator the conveyor and auger in hammer mill area. Ensure that all trucks are inspected and loaded according to instructions. Pull sample from all shipments, label samples and get them to the lab. Put seals on all hatches and record seal number on shipment where required. Coordinate production with hammer mill helpers. Collect sample twice per shift and take to the hammer mill control room to be tested.
RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:
Reporting
Complete daily workplace inspection and lubrication reports
Report any unsafe condition to a supervisor immediately
Complete separator operation report
Complete and return truck-loading ticket to scale house
Maintenance
General maintenance work as directed
Lubricate and service equipment around hammer mill and separator
Safety
Attend safety meetings
Enforce company, local, state and federal safety policies and procedures
Maintain Company and Federal House Keeping Standards.
Quality System
Implement all elements of the quality manual
Maintain validity of documentation affecting the positions listed above
Maintain validity of all procedures affecting the positions listed above
Personnel that are in direct contact with feed products during production are trained with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMPs) requirements based on FSMA or SQFI initiatives.
All employees are required to follow generally accepted Safe Quality Feed Initiative (SQFI) guidelines

To be backed up by other Hammer Mill Operators and Helpers
Perform other duties as assigned
Must be able to manage multiple tasks with a strong sense of urgency to meet the customer needs
Must be able to work well within a team environment and take instructions from management and co-workers
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently
Must possess the basic reading and math skills
Must have good written and verbal communicate skills
Strong record of attendance reliability
Safety oriented with the ability to work well within a team environment
Must be capable of performing the essential job duties required of this job
Industrial background with good troubleshooting skills
Knowledgeable of current environmental regulations and practices as they relate to the lime industry
Previous experience operating heavy equipment is desired
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations is required
Must be able to work shift work, seven days a week including holidays and be flexible to schedule changes, including overtime
Must have a telephone and be open to on-calls
Effectively communicate and interact with supervisors, managers, and peers
Required Experience: A minimum of one year of previous heavy manufacturing and/or mining experience is highly preferred. Previous heavy equipment experience is desired.
Required Education: High School Diploma, GED Equivalent, or demonstrated skills or ability.
Preferred Education: Technical training or AA degree in technical related field is desired.
