Half Day Camp Counselor Aide (Seasonal)

The City of Leawood, Kansas will be accepting applications for the Seasonal (Half Day Camp Counselor Aide) until May 1, 2024.

Summary/Objective

The Half Day Camp Counselor Aide assists Camp Counselors with the day-to-day camp activities. This position is responsible for assisting in the safety and supervision of campers ranging in age from five to eleven years of age.

Essential Functions / Responsibilities

• Assists camp counselors in planning, developing, implementing, and directing camp recreational programs.

• Assisting in maintaining and updating camper records including but not limited to attendance, consent forms, and emergency forms.

• Responsible for accompanying campers on field trips and visits to public recreational facilities including but not limited to swimming pools, libraries, and parks.

• Attends Required meeting and training sessions.

• May be required to assist in making decisions regarding inclement weather which may warrant cancelling participation or seeking shelter.

• Employee may be asked by the supervisor or acting supervisor to perform other duties that are not listed but are essential to the job.

Education, Training, and Certification Requirements

• Must be 15 years of age or older.
