Job description

HEXPOL Compounding is a rubber manufacturing facility located in Kennedale, TX. HEXPOL Compounding is currently seeking a full-time Quality Lab Technician to join our team.

2nd SHIFT

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the efficient, safe, quality, and accurate testing of mixed compounds, acceptance of compounds that meet requirements, isolation of nonconforming material, addition and manipulation of authorized ingredients to center compounds and to ensure that proper documentation is prepared and stored.

  • Must be familiar with work instructions and control plans.

  • Must be able to operate all equipment associated with the testing of compound with little or no reference to work instructions.

  • Ensure that product meets all quality specifications.

  • Send reports and samples as directed in control plans/work instructions.

  • Must know where work instructions are located and be familiar with and be able to explain them.

  • Must have completed training in all aspects of laboratory technician's job.

  • Familiar with computers or strong desire and ability to learn.

  • Previous experience in quality laboratory environment.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Collect data for analysis of nonconforming product for internal investigations as directed by the Quality Manager.

  • Requires rubber experience and/or equivalent education and the ability to perform basic math such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Must be willing to expand knowledge through external courses/training, as appropriate and/or as directed by the Quality Manager.

  • Requires a high degree of concentration and attention to detail at all times.

  • Requires the ability to visually identify color differences in raw materials/ finished goods in order to check material for contamination or consistency (process of elimination through visual and microscopic investigation).

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing: Required to stand in a stationary position while performing job duties.

  • Walking: Required to walk to-and-from break room area as well as other work areas as assigned.

  • Stair climbing: Required to climb stairs to elevated work stations.

  • Balance: Good balance needed to work around chemical containers, conveyors, machinery, forklifts and moving equipment.

  • Weight: Must be able to lift and manage a weight of 55 lbs /25 kgs, as required.

  • Coordination: Good hand/eye coordination needed to perform job duties. Must be able to bend, stoop, twist and lift arms overhead.
