Job Description:

The GWIM Securities-based Lending Specialist acts as an extension of the Financial Advisor/PWA team or individual Financial Advisor/PWA practice. He/she actively develops strategies to identify securities-based lending opportunities (e.g., LMA, ISBL, PCL) in the advisors books and offers clients access to the Banks full suite of liquidity solutions through a high-touch advisor/client experience. The primary focus of the GWIM SBL Specialist is to increase credit relationships within the advisors client portfolios and expand existing credit. He/she will work with Credit leadership, Credit Executives, Credit Specialists and other specialist organizations, advisors and client service teams to meet these objectives. An undergraduate degree along with Series 7 and 63 (or 66) are required for the position


  • Develop call plans leveraging thematic opportunity lists

  • Conduct opportunity calls with advisors and teams

  • Work with Division and Market leadership to achieve and exceed goals

  • Work with peers to share sales ideas across Divisions

  • Partner with Managed Solutions Specialists to further integrate LMA with ML One

  • Provide point of contact into Product team for Underwriting, Operations and others for structuring guidance

  • Conduct recognition calls to advisors and Division and Market leadership

  • Support advisors with non-standard/complex client opportunities

  • Support onboarding of new advisors related to LMA awareness and bank payoffs

  • Participate in Market initiatives

  • Monitor sales and progress to goals


  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience

  • Previous Banking/Financial Services experience needed

  • Knowledge of securities-based lending products

  • Strong communications skills; ability to communicate effectively across the organization

This attorney role is within the Fidelity Institutional (FI) Legal group, which is part of Fidelity's central Legal Enterprise Services group, and would support Fidelity's Capital Markets division ("FCM") and its Operations and Services Group ("OSG"). FCM is the institutional trading arm of Fidelity Investments and provides trading products and services to buy-side institutions, hedge funds, and Fidelity's own business channels. FCM offers electronic brokerage products and execution services across multiple asset classes (equities, fixed income, options, and FOREX), as well prime brokerage services, securities lending, and brokered CD underwriting. OSG provides all brokerage operations and back-office services for Fidelity's institutional, retail and workplace businesses. These operations and services include international operations, security master & pricing, margin, securities settlements, collateral risk, custody, corporate actions, asset transfer, money movement, restricted stock services and treasury functions. In addition to FCM and OSG, the FI Legal group also supports Fidelity's Clearing & Custody Solutions business, which includes its clearing broker -- National Financial Services ("NFS"). NFS provides clearing and custody services to third party broker-dealers, investment advisors, and family offices. The optimal candidate will have capital markets expertise involving securities lending, broker-dealer and securities laws (Securities Exchange Act of 1934, Securities Act of 1933 and related rules and regulations, including FINRA rules), as well as awareness of the regulatory framework for advisers and mutual funds. Applicants should possess law firm or regulatory experience related to securities lending, excellent writing skills, good judgment, effective communication skills, strong issue spotting skills, impeccable integrity, and a collaborative and congenial temperament. The Expertise You Have * JD and at least 5-8 years of law firm or regulatory experience. * Admitted to practice or willing to secure bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction. * Experience in securities lending required.
